Argentina's market drops 48% in one day

I am brushing up on my Español. If I must do Banana Republic I might as well do it properly and move to somewhere like Argentina.

¡Viva la revolución, camaradas!

The leftists say

Hasta la revolución , compañeros .

... but this guy isn't one of them.

And Castillano

You'd get a job as a gaucho on an estancia somewhere there Wayne. Or, try Uruguay. We stayed at Panagea Ranch in Uruguay for a week playing gaucho. Was good fun. Didn't enjoy separating the calves from their mothers one day. The cows were not happy. They broke down fences that night to get back to their babies. It was a bit sad actually.

Wait until you hit the pronunciations

For eg: vanilla you'll hear as ' baneesha'

And the BA dialect, never quite got to unpack lunfardo.
Yeah I heard about the j instead of the y sound down there. I learnt Mexican Spanish back in SoCal at school, so that would be very different.

The difference in pronunciation from Mexico and the west coast of Sth America to Argentina is extraordinary. Spanish people can't even understand people from BA.

Can't comment on Spaniards understanding some cockney-esque dialect from BA, but among Australians it always shocks me when they say they CANNOT understand a Scotsman or Irishman or Appalachian (or any other native English speaker). Some people may not be overall dumb, but are just lacking in a certain type of mental flexibility to understand diverse dialects of their own tongue.

What's France's most successful colony frog? Quebec? New Caledonia? I like Vietnam but I'm not sure what you left them except for bread sticks which produced the amazing Banh Mi.
And devil's island, the original house of horrors

Not off hand may take awhile to find something would could look even quarter decent.

Jorge Luis Borges writing of his countryfolk : "The Argentinian is an Italian who speaks Spanish, thinks French and would like to be English” (“El argentino es un italiano que habla español, piensa en francés y querría ser inglés”).

Such musings are probably only a dilemma for the porteño elite, however. Wags have expanded the traits along these lines: "The Argentinians are Italians who speak Spanish; pretend American salaries and would like to live as the English, make French speeches but vote like the Senegalese, think like leftists but live like bourgeois, praise Canadian entrepreneurship but have Bolivian organization, love Swiss order but practice Iraqi disorder”.

I wonder what has been the impact of the crash of the Argentine stock exchange on the various funds that invest in international markets ?
Any info ?
