Was a warm day today and
after gassing up at the servo, I headed in to pay.
Was going to get a drink, but spotted Zooper Doopers. The ice block things.
In a freezer no less.
$5.50 was the price tag, Frozen. I thought to meself, bargain.
So I bought.

Woolworths has the same product online at $7.00 same as IGA.
I believe they are on the shelf, not frozen or even cold, just at room temperature.

Can't check Coles, they sneaky, you have to log in to see prices.

Anyone have any other specific examples of "thuggery"?

Good start to an interesting thread Frugal Rock.

The Government has announced a 12 month inquiry into supermarket pricing. Very extyensive terms of reference. They want to dig deep. Interestingly there already is an inquiry being realese that has started this process.

So the question for ASF punters is

"Are we rooting for the huge oligarchies that make the super profits we all get dividends from or do want to see a more competitive marketplace that control prices and puts downward pressure on profits and executive salaries ? ;)

A report into soaring grocery prices, rising energy bills and steep airfares will be released on Wednesday with expectations that its findings and recommendations will cause a headache for some of the country's biggest and most powerful companies.

It comes amid a cost of living crisis that has intensified an already-growing distrust of supermarkets, airlines and energy companies.
At the heart of the price gouging inquiry, initiated by the ACTU and led by Professor Allan Fels, is determining in a high inflation environment what's general inflation and what else might be influencing pricing behaviour, the main offending price gouging industries, how they do it and how it impacts everyday Australians.
