Just had a though out of left field.

I wonder the power of the Market Globally, when many options are available to Super fund holders these days. I mean with Institutional and Self Managed Super Funds, I know they are more flexible than they used to be. Example being, the ability to switch from Aggressive to Cash option for a Quarter.

I have this option, as do many others on this forum, but after doing a brief Google search, I was unable to find much information as to if these options are available in other countries, particualy the USA.

The title, "April Fool's Day Rally", relates to my own personal intentions to switch my Cash option back to Aggressive mode in the Quarter starting April 1st.

Has anybody else been in the Cash option for the last 2 Quarters, and intending to switch to Aggressive?

If so, what a powerful boost this could be to the markets, especially if this option is available Globally... Lot's of new money invested for at least 3 months.

That said, is it possible that the reverse effect could have contributed to the orderly correction that we have experienced over the last 2 Quarters?

Are we more powerful than we think?

I should darn well hope we don't need to wait until April to get a rally! :D
Sorry, nothing valuable here.

I'm rather heavily invested at the moment, & in hindsight I should have sold weeks ago, or even 11 days ago. Or rather, 4 days ago! Stop waiting, & get in now to help recover the markets! :D

Sorry Nyden, would love to help, but I am restricted until April 1. Could have changed for the Jan 1 quarter but decided to stay in cash.

But really, the question is, could it make a difference if everyone thought the same way?

Not sure if it's your question or not, but I think the problem is, that many people do think that way. Too many sitting on the sidelines with cash, waiting for this 'bottom' to be reached. Everyone seems to believe the market is some kind of sentient entity, a third person.

The market is valued by people buying / selling, simple as that. The issue is, no one wants to be the first to dive into the pool & try the water. I honestly believe one green day on our markets will set us up for a good week of gains, as some of the masses try to rush back in to not miss out on these 'bargains'.
