An Australian Bill of Rights. Do we need one or do we actually have one. Geoffry Robinson, the Australian QC, has suggested we do. Some people say that we have one based on the Magna Carta because our laws are derived from the westminster model. The expense of testing this is prohibitive because the Australian Government would prefer that it did not suceed and would use our collective money to fight an individual challenge to one it's laws. Any comments. Any bush lawyers out there, (or city ones)

The ACT already has a Bill of Rights, what good it is I don't know since any good legislation passed here gets overturned by someone who won't live here.

You are right!Somebody who lives in a far away place can overrul any attempt of changes like that. Then you call it Democracy. Now a bit of etymology.
Etymology:history of linguistic form.
Democracy:government by the people:
Monarch:supreme ruler.
I'd say no more

Cheers

The Bill of rights works fine in the US...not!

Government of the wealthy, by the wealthy, for the wealthy.
