I went to purchase Amibroker Premium, but until I start using it I am not sure if the AFL and Amiquote options are useful.
AFL looks like I would use it initially at least.

Amiquote, I will be getting ASX data from Norgate and currently only trade ASX.
Amiquote may be of use if I did start trading US stocks (possible) or would Norgate be a better option?

Any comments will be a great help.

@Austwide for me I just use Norgate with australian data and have not used the additional products you mention

I suppose if you want quality / reliable data then Norgate or similar would be the go. To scrape the net with Amiquote might be ok but I would always question the quality of the data when backtesting etc.

The AFL code wizard would depend on your ability but for me I have learnt ( still learning ) just by using the amibroker help files, forum and AFL library which is more than enough information to assist in your development, but really depends on you level and openness for learning. ( I have not used the code wizard so I could have missed the mark when my comment )

Cheers

I concur with Trav.

The AFL code is great to explore ideas. I have minimal ability on coding, but there are heaps of snippets found in forums and by googling generally. These I have found great in starting.

When my coding ability has failed the Amibroker forum is great - many are willing to assist, especially if you have tried and show where you are up to.

When I started my journey with Amibroker I found the various postings on the site to be of great assistance http://www.asxmarketwatch.com/

Thanks Trev and Tractor

Trav your Amiquote comment pretty much sums up the way I feel, so that's decided.

You both have given me a bit of a push if think in the direction where I want to end up.
I do enjoy learning but doing major home reno over the next 12 months gives me time concerns.

I will start with some basic or copied code and develop it as skills and time presents itself.
I guess that what everyone else has to of done.

Thanks again
