Hi guys,

I am about to take the plunge and put a system into use in the real world.

I am about to buy Amibroker and was wondering, does the PremiumData EoD Data at $30 per month just give 1 years worth of historical data or 10 years?

Am I also required to buy the ASX Historical Data at an additional $90? If so, is there any better ways to go the historical data as I realised I will need this to properly back test the system.

It's going to be an expensive week but lets hope it turns out to be an investment!

Thanks,

Steve

Pay the 90$ and backtest your system. If it works, then worry about live data, imo. The 30$/mo is for live data, not historical.

You can get free EOD historical data from here: http://www.asxhistoricaldata.com/archive/

I haven't used it, so I cant comment on the quality of the data. Might be ok to start playing around with.

In the long term I would/did spend the $90 for the data from PremiumData as Gringotts Bank suggested.

The sticky has long thread on data.

Poor free data cost you money due to holes splits errors etc

They also have an alpha product which provides historical constituent data. This is well worth the money otherwise you are going to end up with look ahead bias in your backtests.
