Does anyone know if Amibroker 5.2 is compatable with Windows 7. I can get the ultimate pack W7 for $75 a year as a uni student (mature aged I do admit) and for that price am willing to have a go at it. My new investment in Amibroker is the only thing holding me back.:)

I am using AmiBroker 5.2 Professional on my Windows 7 machine without any problems at all.
I am yet to find a program that works in Vista and does not work in W7 and I have tons of programs and have been using W7 beta for almost a year. W7 is excellent.

I just loaded up Windows 7 yesterday. It looks like a good thing and all my programs run without a hitch. The aero windows that pop up off the task bar at the bottom are a great idea. I can't wait until I have a bit more time to play with it...only four more days to be exact and its off to a small island off the east coast of the Philippines for a couple of weeks to kick back, relax, and put some time in to teaching myself about Amibroker and developing my trading plan to start paper trading to see how I go. Sorry about spruiking about the Philippines but I'm just a little bit excited.:D:D:D

AmiBroker has been working fine here for Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 bit.

The 64 bit version is only required if you are doing extraordinary levels of optimisation or analysis.

I'd recommend using the 32 bit version unless you have a highly intensive requirement to do otherwise.

Note that the 64 bit beta versions of AB lag somewhat from the 32 bit beta versions.

Hi guys,

I want to purchase Amibroker but not sure which version to get. I have Windows 7, 64 bit. Will Amibroker standard edition (32 bit) work on my computer?

Yes it will. I have used AB on Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit for a while now without any problems at all.

Is the 32 bit amibroker still the one to get?

I'm looking to set up a 64 bit computer, and would like to run 64 bit programs to make use of it, but from my quick read around the 64 bit amibroker sounds like a disadvantage.

I imagine I will be doing some memory intensive work with it, but I don't want to be limited with it either.
