It really isn't rocket science, we are completely surrounded by non Europen countries and sit wallowing in our smugness.

I haven't posted a lot in this thread, because it is tribal like Australia, but some should really look past the tribal politics and ask, what is the alternative for Western countries, other than trying to actually get off our lazy butts. Lol

US debt will likely blow up the USD note the AUD is seen as a surrogate for China already.

As for hate that's the property of the right which spews out endless amounts usually at minorities.

With Trump the US as one of our allies is the most uncertain since WWII.

Trumps cabinet picks many are with out doubt the worse ever in the history of the US not to mention the most open influence in US politics and justice system by mega rich.

Australia has never been more voluble and if Dutton gets elected and starts the tough anti China talk you will be speaking Chinese before you know it. :)

As for the hate I think Trump cops his fair share from the left, lucky they are a minority I guess, as the election showed. :xyxthumbs

I think it will be only a matter of time, before we are speaking Chinese, no matter who gets in. ;)

US President-elect Donald Trump’s Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff held a “tense” meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday during which the former leaned hard on the Israeli premier to accept compromises necessary to secure a hostage deal by the January 20 US presidential inauguration, two officials familiar with the matter tell The Times of Israel.

Witkoff’s pressure on Netanyahu appears to have had an effect, with the two officials familiar with the negotiations saying that key gaps were closed during the talks over the weekend.

Spokespeople for Witkoff and Netanyahu did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the matter.


While the prime minister had been pushing for weeks for a temporary ceasefire that only related to the first phase of the three-stage proposal Israel submitted last May, the agreement that is being finalized is increasingly closer to the original offer, with clauses connecting the first phase with the two others, making it harder for Israel to resume fighting once the initial stage goes into place, one of the officials says.

It means you are at the exactly the level of credibility as Joe Rogan.

Yea, its boring. that's why I deleted the comment.
I know of many instances and haven't bothered as it makes no difference.

Honestly, its all distraction. I did one today for a change but I could do it every day, but for what purpose except to waste my time?
it's a well known fact that "facts" and "truth" make no difference as people will believe what they want to believe whether its believing that the fires have found tunnels under celebrities house in Los Angeles leading to child exploitation underground chambers or that the moon landing didn't happen.

Even Musk has spread disinformation, believed some of the stuff he reads on X. Some of the UK stuff is completely wrong but spread here. Luckily I can't read most of it because I have banned that person.

With Ai these videos which are getting easier by the day will make things worse. I have seen many Fakes already.

The internet has a lot to answer for. There is now no attempt at fact checking, we are in a post truth world.

Going back to work soon.
