Am I The Only One That HATES Feminism?

I agree with you GB, unfortunately some times youve only got a time window of 2 minutes to portray those characteristics which I guess is the hard part. Atleast in the sense thats its a complete strange ron the street.

I've seen guys in the city doing this in small groups, around Fed Square (Melb). Watching them, I felt two things simultaneously -

1) An admiration that they would take such risks with their self-image - they were getting rejected constantly, yet continued to push through that.

2) A sadness at what would lead someone to feel the need to do that. Even if they had sex with all of the women they approached, it wouldn't come close to healing the pain they feel.

This post isn't a rebuff of you or what you do. But surely there's a better way?

Feminism is fine.

But Far Left agendas, masquerading as Feminism, Environmentalism, Warmism, or anything else - I find horrid.

Hey GB, i see where youre coming from.

Honestly after I suffered an extreme case of anxiety 2 years ago, I thought I lost all my sense of freedom. Ive said this before but I thought I was losing my sanity. I felt like everything people take for granted was all I wanted. Just the confidence to jump back on the bus without me being so zoned out, feeling unsafe and uneasy etc.

After I started seeing a doc and getting better from cognitive and mindfulness (a state of being focused in the moment rather than in thought) I felt like I had been given a second chance to life. Anyway id just talk to strangers for the heck of it. Most of us are to stuck in our head to just start a random conversation with strangers or even greet them as we walk past in the street.

Anyway, Ive never been good with woman and as a plight to self improvement, I thought by first tackling my insecurities I could build a personal character I was proud of. As kids growing up, most men imagine themselves as being successful in the future with a good job, a beautiful partner etc etc.

Most of us just lose all those hopes and dreams. Slowly but surely we start to accept that that can't be us for all types of reasons. Now as I sit at home on a daily basis trying to become a great trader who can support himself in the future plus possibly a family, one thing that keeps me motivated is the fact that I can find a good partner IF I WORK AT IT. Watching so many movies at a young age, youre just led to believe the woman of your dreams will fall in your laps. I know it doesnt work like that and i know if im to find a partner that ill be be happy with and vice versa, you need exposure to all kinds of woman. Unlike my friend who settled for the first thing that fell in his lap and now his got all kidns of insecurity issues because shes got him wrapped around her pinky.

When you say it wouldnt come close to healing the pain they feel, well to be honest every time Ive seen an attractive lady (and this is only based on their appearance till you actually get to know them. They might have an awful personality) I felt like total crap when I didnt get out of my comfort zone to go and say hi. Thats what drives me. The low feeling I get when I let my self down by not pushing the the anxiety and fear and by not doing what I really wish I did deep down inside.

The best way in life is constantly improving yourself. To constantly push like Canoz once told me: Imagine your comfort zone as a dart board. The centre is where you feel comfortable. Every time you leave the centre you feel scared and nervous and over whelmed. Eventually that first circle out of the centre becomes comfortable and your comfort zone slowly increases. To me thats the meaning of life. Constant state of perpetual growth in all fields.

It all comes down to perspective. Ive got some muslim friends who are all engaged. Thats what they desire. I want to challenge the norms and grow. Not stay comfortable and safe.

Feel free to rebuttal that. Its how we learn and grow.

I keep on hearing about "Far Left" agendas, but when asked to expand on what they actually mean by that, people tend to go back into their shells.

So what agendas do you mean, and whose agendas are they ?

1) and by not doing what I really wish I did deep down inside.

2) The best way in life is constantly improving yourself.

1) Yes but what you think you want is not what you really want. You don't know what's "deep down inside"; you only know what's been expected of you. You think you want unlimited sex with hundreds of different women (external validation). What you really want is to know who you really are outside of your mother's expectations. If you knew that, women would naturally seek you out, rather than vice versa.

2) No. The best way is to know who and how you'd be if you didn't feel the need to please others. That's not an easy process for anyone. But if it can be achieved, then natural growth follows spontaneously.

It's slightly technical in parts but just use a dictionary when needed. It's an excellent article.

Thanks GB, that makes sense and I agree with your points.

Ill read the article today. Looks interesting.

In terms of validation, I have that problem. Ive always wanted validation from others but the funny thing im eccentric and I contradict most norms, havent really been popular but im happy with that. Wouldnt want it any other way.

At one point, I did try and change my self in my teens but then I came to the conclusion that Id rather just be me and express my true self (or what I think that is).

Validation isn't bad. It's one of our most basic needs, so there's nothing wrong with it. Ideally it's given to babies/children in the form of mirroring of emotions and unconditional support and attention. Problems arise when the validation is conditional, ie. only given when certain behaviours are displayed. This is how the 'false self' arises. You win the parental approval only when you do certain things, or look a certain way or suppress your emotions. What would happen if you were just who you are? Would you be rejected?

When you go and pick up on the street, it would be that same false self on display, the one instilled in you in your early years. All those ambivalent feelings you have towards your mother (the early learning of what is 'female') would come across in the interaction.

Hope all this doesn't sound too dark, but it probably will sound that way! There is a solution!!, and the author of that article outlines it pretty well. :)

Peter Sutton may ban Mr valizafeh from entering Australia -

Mr Valizadeh's group believes rape should be legalised on private property and that women are biologically determined to follow the orders of men. The Australian meetings will purportedly coincide with 43 public meetings worldwide.

"F--- it, I just booked a flight to Australia. See you somewhere there on 2/6. I'll stay a while, see some sights," Mr Valizadeh tweeted with an screen shot of flight options to Sydney, Canberra, and Melbourne.

"To all attractive Australian girls in age range of 18-22. I'm coming to your country and am free to meet for drinks," he tweeted.

Mr Valizadeh has said that women, transgender men and homosexual men are not to attend the meetings, even though the meetings will begin in public spaces.

I don't see any good reason to keep him out. The man is offensive, but according to George Brandis at least, he has a right to be so.

If his visa is refused it will be a very hypocritical act from the government.

I think what Brandis was trying to allow was speech that some may find offensive but was legal. For instance, the right to criticise Islam, the religion. Isn't this guy trying to promote what is a criminal offence. A bit different, I think.

In theory yes. But in fact I believe what he is trying to do is normalise and legalise a range of actions that he and his followers would like to engage in.

Is there a free speech component here ? Is it an outrage against public morality ? Does it represent an assault on women? Is it a new freedom movement for masculinist men ? Are these guys dangerous sociopaths who should be locked up to protect society from their brutish ideas ?

Given the context of this thread are they a logical extension of a mindset that hates feminism ?

He's trying to get a law changed.

Not many people including myself would support what he's trying to do but as long as he goes about it lawfully I don't see a big issue.

GB it doesnt sound dark. I think I understand what youre trying to get at but Ill need to go through that article to really understand where youre coming from. Ill let you know my thoughts on the article when i go through it.

I'm not sure it is the same thing. He is not being prevented from expressing his opinion, but by withholding a visa he is not being given a platform to vent his opinion in Australia. This is more a public safety issue in my opinion. Rape is violence against women, so why would you allow someone to advocate doing just that in Australia.

Expressing one's opinion about Islam, the religion, say is not the same as advocating violence against Muslims and that some Muslims may be offended by what they hear is nether here nor there. We don't have the right to not be offended. But women do have the right not to have someone saying it is OK to rape them.

Well it's a fine line. Is he advocating that people break the current laws or simply that the laws be changed ?

Exposing his view to public opinion where it is most likely to be rejected is better I think than turning him into some sort of martyr for free speech, but I can see your viewpoint too.

All that's required from our government is a statement that he has Buckley's of getting what he wants so he's wasting his time coming. But if he wants to come anyway and spend money here, that's up to him.

Personally I don't think that his views are worth a pinch of poo, but once you go down the censorship route where will it end ?

In exasperation SR. The political threads, the climate hysteria thread, it's only on every second page
