ABC Radio National Breakfast Left Stooges

gg, have you actually expressed this view to the producers of the programme?

The other right wing person on "The Insiders" is Andrew Bolt. Don't much care for him or Akerman.

I never thought of contacting the producer. would it make any difference? Surely he,she,it would decide the presenters according to its biases.

I rarely watch insiders but it seems like a chance for the subjects to show off rather than a proper forum for debate.

SBS have better political debate so I stick with them on TV.

If they receive enough objections they will consider modifying the content.
I'm a strong believer in registering opinions with the ABC and have always received reasonable and considered responses.

It will be interesting to hear how Fran and Michelle approach the recent victories of the ADF over the Taliban in Afghanistan.

How difficult for them to spin an Australian Arms victory in the War against Terror to their latte listeners.

Imagine if they had been broadcasters during WW2.

About ten days ago Fran interviewed Malcolm Turnbull in a very rude and aggressive fashion. She is never like this when interviewing her own kind.

If you want to call'm to book ( Kelly & Grattern), point out their foe-pars and go tell it to "media watch"m, and keep us posted here, this tawddle about about ABC bias goes on perenially. The lead up to the Iraq war Coverage was pulled apart in detail, at the time, for bias. And it was split 50/50. To our loss, Scott Ritter never got a look in, you had to "Alternative Radio Lectures" to get his point of view. And if you Think Breakfast RN is left, the ARL's are Trotskyist. Ritter's critque, who's an ex-marine and payed up Republican, would have saved trillions of dollars and Hundreds of thousands of lives . and yet tow the 'co-alition of the willing' line Richard Butler was always available for comment, no matter how wrong, on 'Breakfast RN'. Both of these blokes were privy to identical information.UNSCOM(?). One of these guy's continues to write books and give lectures, the other was gifted a Governorship (Tasmania) that lasted six months and then was paid out $650 GRAND(the full term Payment) by the Government to Whom he did his duty... tell me, what's he (BUTLER) doing these days?
If you so desperately need to countervail Kelly and Grattern's comment, get someone to link you to David Oldfield(mp) on whatever station secretes him in the graveyard shift, or get some re-runs of the love in's between 'Tokyo Jones' and the 'Deputy Sheriff'.
Or, perhaps, you could always read more... The only place in the electronic media I've heard anything of Dr David Kilcullen's latest book was on Radio National. I'd love to know where in the political spectrum you'd put him.

The RN Breakfast Stooges were at it again this morning.

All they talked about was Carbon credit thingamajigs and Global Warming as if it was a done deal, the warmening that is.

Not one commentator from the other side to argue that we are condemning our apprentices and workers to a life of penury all because of some leftiegodbothering computer simulated belief in warmening.

What a disgrace.

Maybe you could post some of this lefty bias as evidence? So far it's only been your interpretation? Nothing in this commentary to suggest such, in fact, a bit critical of the debt/budget legacy of Labor

I still reckon it was all leftie yessing.

Fran let Combet off the hook. He refused to answer the question on job losses of workers by blathering, she wouldn't have let a Liberal away with that.

She sounds more like Kerry O'Brien by the minute and he was supposed to be in the process of having an external check done on his style but it was kiboshed at the last minute by the comrades at the ABC.

Its getting more like Radio Zimbabwe by the day.

Labor didn't win 99% of the vote last election and I'm not getting my 8c a day worth unless its a Zimbabwean 8c.

I have had to endure Geraldine Doogue or however she spells her name, mumbling and fumbling over the simplest words, with the arch verbal ratchet Michelle Grattan, all this week.

Why do not the ABC give someone from the Right a go on morning breakfast on Radio National?

They ask the most insipid questions of Gillard and co, repeatedly letting the ALP off the hook.

I wouldn't be surprised to see four or five ABC presenters in parliament over the next few years.

gg

I do agree about Geraldine Doogue gg. She is just awful. Particularly irritating is the way her voice rises querulously when asking a question.

Apparently Fran Kelly is taking some restorative leave in preparation for the coming election stresses.

Ditto the 7.30 Report where the competent Chris Urhlman has left to be involved with the forthcoming ABC News Service. He capably filled Michael Brisendon's place. Now we have the dreaded Heather Ewitt who should have withdrawn from any such role at least a decade ago.

Fran Kelly seems quite likeable, as did Maxine McKew before her.

If you listen to the Paul Duffy show, Counterpoint, I think it's RN on Mondays, you are immediately struck by the change in tone. I find myself checking the dial, is this the ABC? But you'll only get this one day per week. Just as you'll always see the Right in the minority on any ABC panel, think Q&A and Insiders, and always the Left given the last word. And Labor and Greens let off the hook in most interviews.

One stark recent exception to the ABC rule was when Kerry O'Brien bored in mercilessly on Kevin Rudd. Within a week Rudd had been replaced by Gillard.

I think you'll find that Tony Jones sees himself as the new Kerry O'Brien. His Lateline organized ambush of Professor Plimer by a (foaming at the mouth) George Monbiot was a low point in recent ABC history. In my view Jones was clearly complicit in this on-air travesty. Plimer was never given a chance.

I would agree. All the "serious" ABC interviewers seem to be morphing into the one Left Interrogator. Jones is quite comical really in his biases. I guess they will have decided to let Gillard in as PM and will go easy on her until after the election.
