I would agree in principle, but almost every public broadcaster in the anglosphere are very much pushing the leftist agenda. Just consider not only our own ABC, but also BBC, NPR, CBC etc.
How do we solve that? How to we drag these organisations, kicking and screaming, back to the centre, back to impartiality, back to common sense?
Nothing wrong with some left leaning views, as long as it is balanced with right leaning and central views.
Cut funding to a percentage closer to the ratings.
Overhaul of the ABC internal rules and regulations.
Take the power away from the ABC staff and union, they should not have voting power. And if they decide to strike over it and force their will by striking, then let them strike. Don't give in to bullying tactics. There are plenty of other options on the TV, radio and internet.
Do that and eventually it will become 'our ABC' again.
