Yep, CH9 were cowboys, but the essential problem still remains.
Should people be allowed to kidnap children from Australia against the terms of a custody order and deprive them of their mothers care ?
The end result is that the father is being paid off when he is essentially the criminal.
So father's getting screwed by Australia's family courts are criminals for wanting to be with their kids. The money is on that they are better looked after there then being used as pawns here. She let them go there, they weren't kidnapped.
What she did with channel 9 was kidnap and assault at its most stupid.
She let them go ?
If she did it was on condition that they are returned.
The guy is a criminal who violated a court order, no question.

I'm guessing you subscribe to idea that an ilfit husband does not equate to an unfit father?
I must admit I distrust the courts in this country so much I have had to forgo relationships rather than grant free access to my love interests. It seems if it is a skirt the law sees it as more deserving of compensation and rights than a pair of trowsers.
But then bringing up kids in a Muslim embrace ......
I work with a lot of father's who are good men, follow all the rules, love their kids and are granted weekend access because an unfit drug/alcohol abusing mother knows how to game the court.
And yes I know there are some complete $hit bag father's out there.
But in this case he followed the law in each country. He has rights in Lebanon and he is exercising his right to be with his kids. I don't like this arrogance that other countries must adhere to our laws when you are already in another country.
He would be destroyed by our feminist leftist culture if he attempted the same thing here.
Muslim / Christian isn't important, family structure is. And the Lebanese do it as good or better than most. Majority of Aussies would rank near the bottom of that list.

So there you go. What is in the children's best interests ?
Life in the Middle East surrounded by terrorism or in Australia where the children want to be ?
Some Australia law may be ****e, but Lebanese law is more so.
I'm guessing her husband knew what was going to happen and baited the crew into acting it out so he could get custody, money and fame. Rat cunning is not the preserve of the middle east, but it does have well honed skillsets.
Just thinking that all those modern working mums who leave their kids in child care and with maternal grandma, should probably think twice about what their husbands want for their children. Feeding a child weetbix in the morning and tucking them in at night isn't parenting at its best.

If he had kidnapped the children in the manner carried out by Channel 9 he would be in as much strife as them.
Not in Lebanon, they work by different rules there.
What are you talking about?
If he had come to Australia with a kidnap team and a camera crew, then carried out the same stunt as his wife did, he would be in gaol here.
Obviously not a change of heart, several hundreds of thousands of dollars apparently and that's just a rough guess.

What a bunch of cowboys.
I said the 60 minutes thing was a stunt, I don't disagree with your statement above.
The point I was making was that the father took the children to Lebanon on the understanding that they would be returned. If he kept by his word there would have been none of this fiasco. He is in violation of Australian law and is therefore a criminal in the eyes of our law and if he returned here he would most likely be charged with a criminal offence.
ie he is the cause of the problem. Agree or not ?
No, trying to excuse a very serious criminal action in a foriegn Country by saying two wrongs make a right is ludicrous.
That is why we have a legal system, otherwise camera crews and cowboys would be running all over the place, right or wrong.
It is a sure way to descend into anarchy, when everyone circumvents the law and takes on vigilante style actions.
What they did was straight from a movie set, it just highlights how far above the law, t.v presenters feel they are.
They think they can say and do as they like, well they get away with it here, but we are limp dicks.
Other Countries are not so in awe of our reporters, they should be given a gaol term, it is outrageous behaviour.IMO
IT WASN"T A STUNT, IT WAS CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR.
What if there had been armed police around and people had been shot?
