Is that you?! That's a lot of climbing! Great stuff and congrats!
What's involved PB?
It works out to 12 meters a minute.
Do ride up it?
Carry the bike?
What do you actually do over the 12 hrs?
The basic explanation is vertical metres are accumulated whilst riding up a hill. The distance travelled is irrelevent, only the height of the hill is relevent. The steeper the hill, the more metres accumulated per distance travelled. Think of height from sea level to the top of a particular hill/mountain.
The hill I chose was just under 500m in distance, but climbed 60.6m in elevation (for cyclists out there ~13.3% average). In my time limit of 12hrs I did 153 laps of the circut (up and down the hill continuously) = 9271.8m. To put into perspective, Mt Everest peak from sea level is 8848m, so effectively I climbed higher than the height of Everest in a single ride, in 12hrs.

What type of bike did you ride?
Road or Mountain or Custom?
Willunga hill is only 7.6%
but check this out---you'd appreciate it.

So to get your record you'd have to do 4 climbs an hr for 12 hrs
Wow
I doubt I'd last more than a couple of hrs on a mountain bike
Less on a roadie.
Top job!
Our Local gut buster is 101m elevation gain at ~18% average. For one brief second I contemplated 92 Reps and your achievement was suddenly in context.
Awesome – slightly crazy maybe but freakin awesome.
Well done.
