Anyone else having a budget party tonight? Mine will be fancy dress again. This year I’m dressing up as a set top box and my wife as an asylum seeker off for a holiday in Malaysia.

Friends will be arriving soon to cheer on the announcements. Hopefully no repeat of last year when after a few drinks a guy dressed in budgie smugglers ended up in a stoush with a solar panel and two pink batts tried to set fire to the place.

I am sure you should be able to get government funding for all of those plus legal aid the next day.

How can this be a budget if it does not include the calculations of the carbon tax? Surely the revenue forecasts will be wrong?

Not having a budget party tonight.

Will have a wake tomorrow though

Here in Townsville we will be sitting on our verandahs polishing our baseball bats. Let's wait for a federal election, then there will be budget pain.

Good to know someone is awake.
This is exactly the point the opposition has been making.

Because it's "VERY IMPORTANT" in the National interest not to include the calculations and further more we have to confuse the "WORKING FAMILIES" and with their extra $5 in their pay packet it will offset the extra cost of electricity when the carbon dioxide tax comes in.

So why arn't you all happy?

Can't you people see that? Wayne has just told you it's very important whatever that means.

Geez, I've even confused myself now.

Party went well. Only a minor incident when a guy fell over.

He wasn’t drunk, just got dizzy. Came as a refugee boat and people kept turning him around all night.

Almost time for this year's party.

This time I'm dressing as a speaker. Gown, fishnet stockings, pockets bulging with cabcharge dockets.
