Got home tonight and had a voicemail from a NSW detective asking me to call her back. Need to call back tomorrow.

Was thinking about what they want. Had a car stolen from outside Kirribilli House about 10 years ago (thanks PM's security:rolleyes:) and our house was burgled about 5 years ago but without much taken of value apart from my wife's Tag Heuer watch and our sense of home as a haven. Can't see that it would be anything to do with that.

So started thinking about the other side of the coin and being a criminal rather than a victim of crime. Only things I am aware of are a few long ago speeding tickets and red light camera tickets, all of which I grudgingly paid. Given the explosion of laws recently, it could be that I have inadvertently broken some laws. Heard someone was convicted by beeping their car horn to say hello the other day - I do this sometimes, could this be the problem? Could some of my ASF posts be considered ramping or offensive such that the police are after me.

Would be interested in what ASF's think the police are after?

Gooner, you are hardly likely to have been contacted by a detective for any of the paltry offences you mention which you've apparently dealt with anyway.

Maybe something to do with the past burglary, e.g. goods turning up or something.

For heaven's sake, don't worry about it.
Let us know tomorrow what it's about.

Geez he might not be about tommorow,

what with the tightening of bail laws and all

and I hear remand is a real bad place..some people even plead guilty cause they know they will get a shorter sentence than being remanded due to court backlogs...even when they would prefer to plead not guilty:eek:

Pretty sure I could get bail on ramping charges - got ties to the community, kids etc. Though am sort of unemployed which always increases the vigilance of the judges.......

Well that depends watchhouse remand time is calculated differently

Don't worry mate. You should not be comparing yourself to the CEO of HIH. Ramping?

Probably something mundane like a person you know gave your name as someone who can be a reference for them in relation to something they want to do that needs police clearance.

And what of your avatar? Does this represent a darker side of which you have struggled to control over the years? Don't worry, we all have the propensity to sin and judgment day is near for you. Take care and may someone bless your soul.

Don't worry about it mate, although I can understand why you would.

Kafka wrote a few books about this sort of situation.

It may be a mistaken phone number or something quite innocent.

What About Hey Dad?

Nah, I'm not him. And was not on any TV shows as a kid

I am in fact the devil incarnate in my spare time, thus the avatar:D

Possibly something quite innocent. No dawn raid (well it is kinda dawn time right now) so maybe not that urgent

She might be calling in the hope you can bring out the devil in her.

Now that sounds interesting:D

Any good ASX tips you want to share before they put you away Gooner??:D

WPL, OSH and STO are my top quality ASX picks. All good solid blue chips with upside to higher energy prices from peak oil. I hold all three.

Possibly, although surprising a detective would be doing this - more likely civilian employees of the police do this stuff? I actually have police clearance as I am a director of my children's pre-school.

Good luck with the legal thing, whatever it may be, but as a someone who never throws loud parties, owns no barking dogs nor screeching babies, can I please ask you:

Heard someone was convicted by beeping their car horn to say hello the other day - I do this sometimes, could this be the problem?

NEVER TO DO THIS AGAIN???

Pretty please, with sugar on top.

Just spoke to the officer. She did not know my name. Could not remember calling me.

Said she would have to check her calls yesterday morning and would call me back if she needed to contact me.

So looks like a wrong number. PHEW:)

Did you sleep last night gooner? lol

Are you sure one of your friends isnt playing a prank on you?
