Pearl Jam Tour thread

My last 72 hours:
2 x 8 hour drives from Mallacoota to Melbourne and back
2 x 4 hour flights from Melbourne to Perth and back
2 x 1 hour boat trips down the Swan River to East Perth and Back.
20 beers and an assortment of very ordinary airline and service station food.
4 hours of sleep (tried tosleep but screaming children on the plane prevented that)
1500 bucks

Ben Harper- Awesome
Pearl Jam- un- freakin'- believabl. Again.

Anyone else seeing this tour, anyone gone to any gigs so far?

For the zero people who are intersted, the Melbourne show was awesome. Crowd seemed to have a higher proportion of douche bags than normal however. The band was MIGHTY. Absolutely MIGHTY.
Must be a lot of Britney lip sync lovers out there if not a single person in ASF attended a PJ show.

Were you the tall guy in front of me with his T-shirt wrapped round his head??? Or the guy behind me, who shared way too much sweat and just a little bit of hip sway in a crowd .

Absolutely huge show, loved it (I'm assuming by your avatar you are not the princess who thought she would slam dance me for floor space 3 songs into the set, she gave that idea away when indicated in no uncertain terms that her efforts were unwelcome).

Liam Finn, great, beautiful and odd, guess in his own way a chip off the old block. Ben Harper was melodic, bluesy and loud, all good. And PJ - the first show I ever attended was a "things to do before you die" kinda thing, eg attend a PJ concert, the 2nd show (last night's) was a "things to do before you die....attend another PJ concert...and make sure you were somewhere where you could dance". Loved it, waiting for bootleg to buy now

I do get the ****s however when people who were not even born when Ten came out try to force their way into the mosh. Nothing an elbow in the back of the skull doesn't fix though.

No i wasn't the tosser with the shirt around his head. I did feel like stomping that guy to death when he kept pushing into my girl friend though when he went back to the back of the front section. When I told him it was unlikely he was knife proof he left us alone. I was in a pretty average mood by that stage, and left the mosh pit as corduroy started. Enjoyed the show from the side where Ed was walking out. Great setlist, so different from Perth. Sorry about the mood, hope the Sydney show made up for it.

I certainly relate to the feelings re the crowd at times, I am 5 foot 3 inch female btw, makes viewing from the mosh a challenge but was happy to stand my ground and dance and jump and sing.

The stadium gig was fun, but definitely not conducive to great viewing conditions.

Pearl Jam were awesome, 2nd time i've seen them. Ben Harper was awesome too, I saw him at Bluesfest eariler this year.
I loved Eddie's and Harper's version of David Bowie and Freddie Mercury 'Under Pressure'

Good old Adelaide heat wave! Would have been unbearable if it stayed 40 for the show. They played under pressure in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. certainly a great cover. Ben Harper and Ed seem to work so well together.

My feeling is that this has been the best tour I have seen out the five. biggest setlists, best vibe. Sydney was great. Ed was suffering froma bit of a sniffle which he blamed on Melbourne. Ben Harper did a bit of singing. Awesome Vitalogy rich set list. Another Killer gig.

Wish I was going to Brisbane, will be amazing if the last show of the last tour in Perth is anything to go by.
