Repeat of 1975: GG Sacks Rudd

There are eerily familiar comparisons to be made between now and Whitlam's demise.

We have a Governor General who has been empowered by her recent political trip through Africa.

She was appointed by the Labor PM Rudd as a pair of safe Labor hands.

The Government do not control the Senate.

The National Savings have been spent in a profligate manner.

Supply may be in peril should a Senate of which Labor is a minority refuse to pass it, when we go in to a depression.

Ministers have gone off on foreign alignments without thought to National Security or propriety..... Fitzgibbon

The Defence Force is at odds with the Government of the day.

The Prime Minister has an attitude of narcissism and is doubted by his caucus more than the electorate.

It all sets the scene for a tearful end with the GG Governor-General, making a decision on the day.

Well gg I hope you're right , but the Gov Gen wil have to learn how to hit the piss a lot harder before she'll have the fortitude to pull that trick again.

If Rudd runs out of bribe money his popularity will wane immediately and it will be all over as Gillard and Swan togerther couldnt blow the froth off a pot of Vic

What a crock! Now we need nunthewiser to repond and put these turkeys in perspective. I some how can't see "Malcom in the middle" being appointed as caretaker prime minister. Something about a complete lack of any credibilty. Maybe the GG will ask St Peter (Costello) for some divine intervention.

I dont really 'get' how you judge credibility nulla,

a self made-man who has a law/arts degree, rhodes scholar, university of sydney/oxford, turned to politics.

somehow has less? credibility than,

a degree in chinese language studies, who screams at Flight attendents

once again no one looks past the veneer

seen these limpwristed show ponys all over the shop . all good when things are sweet and bubbling along and living off the foundations that labour have to build for them ..... they come in all full of swagger and great ideas , send the economy into overdrive and then run back to mamma b4 the poo actually hits the fan

something like 90% of g20 countries are in recession, and AUSTRALIA isnt.
Labor inherited 0 debt, positive growth forecasts.

and since Labor has taken control they have CONSISTANTLY scaled down their growth forecasts.

Our economy is built on MINERALS and FINANCIALS, the two sectors that have been most hit in the GFC.

how are we in such good shape?
