Anyone been or is a casino dealer?

Just saw a job advertised at Crown, so wondering what people think about Crown and dealing?

Cheers

I toyed with the notion for a while, but I decided that I'm happier on the patron side of the blackjack table :D Rat bastards took $100 off of me today! I took $500 off of them the other day though, so it all works out I guess.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say the casino was some sort of scam though - with the awful intent being to take peoples money!

hi pan

I'm dealing at crown. I really enjoy it..

you will not find training equivalent to what you get here in melb, most other casinos are rushed and or don't pay you during training.

the downsides are sometimes extremely abusive patrons, working nights and weekends and the addicts.
you also have to be on your toes all the time because you can't be overpaying the punters (lots cheat). Also you can't gamble at the casino anymore if you work there, but there are safe and large poker games to be "found", dw.

upsides are you will meet alot of interesting people, see drunks do hilarious things and be carried out by security, get access to free staff cafe, a locker (your uniform is washed for you), all sorts of discounts, and I also think you will learn a few useful things from a psychological perspective.

at first you get 1 major game and two or so mini games (like sic bo, big wheel, carribean). then you can get more major games later. you can only pick your second major game not your first.

if you are looking to get into trading this would be the ideal 'while you study' job also for a career there are alot of options open to you to advance to higher places (pit boss, supervisors, surveillance, event management etc) once your inside.

hope this helps,

p.s I love cleaning out annoying punters

Cheers thanks robinhood, I was talking to someone last night and they said if you are apart of Crown you get treated well.

Disappointing though you can't play at the casino, but I understand why.
