since the crusades have they,down with the infidel and what have you.

We have made much progress.

We now use much more civilised methods to slay our enemies.

No more hand to hand massacres. Just nice, clean, "surgical strikes" - often by un-manned robot drones. Obviously, our modern civilised nations have heeded the wonderful advances Herr Hitler made with his V1 and V2 un-manned bombs. No need to lose a single soldier in the field of battle now.

What more could you want?

Surely not peace?

attacks highlight one fact above all others. It is that, seven years after 9/11, the pursuit of Osama Bin Laden is a failure. That is the real conclusion to draw from these two attacks. Seven years of striding around the world as if he owned it, club in hand like some primeval caveman, President Bush has no more defeated Al-Qaeda than when it first attacked.

Folk should not be too hasty in damning the Americans for chasing these godbotherers across an arbitrary border.

The British, French, Turks and Russians over the last two centuries laid these borders where they suited them. Thuggish clans now control the areas in question.

Whether the lines of engagement happen to fall in Iraq, Syria or Iran for that matter will not bother the Americans and nor should it posters above.

I found this interesting fact from the US Defence Dept -

Total US deaths from March 19, 2003 to October 4 2008 = 4,169
Total no. of suicides from March 19, 2003 to October 4, 2008 = 160 (or 3.83% of total deaths).

Total deaths in US in 2005 = 2,448,017
Total suicides in US in 2005 = 32,637 (or 1.33% of total deaths).

So, US suicide rate in Iraq is 3 x the rate back in the US!

Funny. I haven't heard too much in the media about those suicides or the generally high rate of US military suicides in Iraq. Let alone the big numbers of Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans repatriated with serious ongoing mental disease conditions.

I don't know about Syria, but drug gangs in Mexico keep trying to buy out the local bureacrat, if that doesn't work they eliminate them. It's a problem because of the huge amount of money available which they use to influence.

There are actually factions of the military and police fighting each other in Mexico for control of the drug trade.


In regard to who is telling the truth about the cross border raid I, of course, will defer to the Syrians who have proved through the years to be a peace loving, democratic, open voiced, well governed free society.




And, in regard to the cross border raid, and the 'children' being killed, I wonder how old they really were, and just when they were going to be strapping bomb kits to their bodies to kill some fellow Muslims, both women and children. Of course, that would have been justified.

Can't help but think the anti US ferver here has toppled over the edge.
