It's been a few weeks since I've disrespected anyone.

Sorry, been off my game....

Some options:

1. There are too many people on the planet, and how will it pan out? Solutions?
2. Will humans evolve to be androgynous?
3. Does anyone think it odd that the media do stories on the media?
4. Are aliens actually humans coming back in time?
5. Will we all be speaking Mandarin in 200 years?
6. Why does everyone cheat on their life partner? (currently at 50% prob)
7. Why do we allow other 'people' to continue to exist who participate in 'cheer squads'? - just check out the people supporting the Western Bulldogs (Footscray).
8. Why is the TV show, 'The girls of the Playboy Mansion' acceptable to any female in this world?

I could go on, but....it's getting late in Brazil...

I think the 'Girls of the Playboy Mansion' is a doozie!

PS what a great bit of lateral thinking there kennas, what a concept lol - the buddhist believing in UFOs lol -

PS Maybe something more general like "Favourite Australian literature"? (or don't any of us have any favourites :eek:)

The City Bird

A city bird once in a desperate rage
Threw over the bars of his screen
The whole of the seed that was put in his cage,
And it grew to a miniature green.

Sometimes when my troubles come up in a mass,
And fate a new sorrow doth send,
I turn my wet eyes to that bright bit of grass

Returning again at the end of the day

PS worth a listen if you get a solitary moment ... (especially feminists lol) Actually she was not a feminist in today's meaning of the word - just a determined woman who fought for woman's suffrage in Aus.

Although, he did seem to be choosie when handing out miracles.

You had to earn your miracle by being faithful, or being worthy, and the like.....

Today, to be cured, you need to put in 10%, or confess, don't have sex before marriage (or quickly get married before the thing shoots out), and not covert thy neighbours goat....

Hmmm, maybe he was a Republican.

Just to change topic a sec lol - before you throw out those original options...

Sometimes I think that we should all learn Esperanto.
And maybe even design a "pidgin-mandarin-esperanto" that was more logical and easier to learn for all - or rather some blend of all languages.

I'm not a languages expert, although I speak a bit of Cantonese, and I'm sure the sentence construction in Mandarin is similar.

"How are you?" comes out literally as "you are well / not (well)?"
"I'm off to the movies" becomes "I go out see movie"
"have you eaten yet?" becomes "you've eaten already rice or not, ah?" where ah = eh?
"Sorry" becomes "next to you I should be dead" lol (excessively damned sorry if you ask me)


Anyway, I'm in favour of such a move to a universal language (other than straight English with its ridiculous inconsistencies - I'm sure I've made 3 grammatical errors just in this post for instance)

BUT BUT , lol
but no way do we forget our own language - else what would we do with all those magical Shakespearean quotes ? :2twocents

You think I'm a poet you say,
It was a flash in the pan.
Some spirit had taken my body,
To fulfill some frivoulous plan.

For never in the past no matter my will
There was never a chance of rhyming words
Though from Banjo came the inspiration
My efforts were like polishing turds

My plan was that rather than rhyme
I could write something prosaic
Something with a message, a meaning
Something touching, a verbal mosaic

Alas it is with tears that I report
That my attempts were quite dull
All rather dry with figures and facts
All stuff about bears and a bull

All of the the sudden the pen in my hand
Started writing sentences with a similar end
Ye Gods! the lines were rhyming, in a manner
(Though they were really for 2020 to offend)

Another alas, that spirit has gone
And left me to piece together old work
And string together some amateurish poem
That I'm sure will give you all cause to smirk

At the rubbishy piece
That I slaved over tonight
So have a laugh at me
And to all - Good night

JC was probably more like Siddhartha than any other 'prophet' from what I can make out when sifting through the historical noise. Well, that's what he's been made out to be anyway.

The 'healings' and the like are just BS to give him more legitamacy and make him part of the Trinity, whatever that is supposed to entail.

Now there's a nother topic....

1. Inequitable distribution of resources is a far greater problem than overpopulation.

The planet will find a way to cull half the human species, or the planet will die. Alternatively, we find a way to bring back a balance. Unlikely at this point IMO.
