Hi all..

I was just reading that at age 48 most people spend the most money..

Any idea on how to post a 'poll' here for peoples ages, so as to ascertain the average age of forumites at aussiestockforums?

That way we can get an average age of 'investors' here

Posting a poll is easy. Start a new thread and type your post but before you click submit, make sure you check the add a poll checkbox in the additional options section.

Then you simply add your poll question and options.

Hi all..

I was just reading that at age 48 most people spend the most money..

What a peculiar idea. Spend the most money on WHAT??? Supporting near-adult kids maybe? Mid-life sports cars? oh wait maybe that's it. I'm older than 48, but I went into instant crisis when I laid eyes on the new Mini convertible!!! AND I was spending a small fortune on cross-trainers at the time.

OTOH, I didn't go racing after it in my new shoes, waving some of the handfuls of cash I happened to have left over. Maybe that's what I would have done at age 48.

In all seriousness Barbarian, do you remember where you read this and how on earth it was justified? Seems suss to me.

So if you are 48 and successful you may spend the most money.

But for other ages there are other rewards :-

At age 4 success is . . . not peeing in your pants.
At age 12 success is . . . having friends.
At age 16 success is . . . having a drivers license.
At age 20 success is . . . having sex.
At age 35 success is . . . having money.
At age 50 success is . . . having money.
At age 60 success is . . . having sex.
At age 70 success is . . . having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is . . . having friends.
At age 80 success is . . . not peeing in your pants

Quite a success if you have a driving licence at 16 when the law only allows you to have one when your 18.

48 sounds an awful lot like semi retirement to me?

I am an old b here on ASF, heading towards "success is having sex" (2nd time lucky maybe)

Maybe I will stick with shares though, no more arguments or headaches just occasional setbacks and incredible ecstasy on success.
