Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

2025 Full Year Stock Tipping Competiton

Thanks mr owner, and just reminder to other participants to post in the four stocks you have chosen.
We have until midnight Sunday to get them in.
So far we have had 7 entrants who have posted in all 4 stocks threads.
A few others have posted in one or two stock threads.

Mick
@mullokintyre Posted my deeply thought-out thoughts on my 4 picks last night.

I know everyone is desperately waiting for me to post the results for the FEBRUARY stage of the Yearly comp, but so far less than half of the entrants have posted comments about each stock for last month.
I get the impression that most have lost interest, so not sure if I really need to spend the time updating data then creating and running VBA scripts (ok I cheated I got GROK3 to write them) to get the data in a readable form.
I am away from my puter all day today, so will try and post tonight.

@mullokintyre If only half have submitte their thoughts then @mullokintyre it is time thy extracted the digit and got on with it.
Rules is Rules.

Ok, here is the list.
Its is not as formatted as well as I would like, there are errors in my VBA sort that I need to debug, but I think the data itself is correct.
If there are contestants who have made entries in the share thread that I may have missed, let me know and I will correct.

one small error i spotted ... the month should have been February ( January was much kinder to me )

cheers !

So even if my picks don't perform well I might win because some members won't post on their stocks once a month and will be disqualified.

Sounds ok to me.

If everyone posted once a month it would make 120 or so extra posts per month or 1440 a year which would help @Joe Blow attract more advertisers and as well as improving his bottom line. This would ensure the continuance of ASF as a viable forum.

Are you running the competition for the sake of the people who are respecting what you asked, or those who aren't? It seems strange to treat those doing the right thing as those doing the wrong thing.

If not posting in the threads as you asked is a sufficiently big problem for you, you can eliminate them from the competition, but it seems wrong to punish those respecting you because others don't.

Not saying this from a personal point of view; my own ranking is sure to be terrible and I'm not even going to check the scoreboard this month 😅 But just conceptually in life, it makes sense to do the right thing by people who have done the right thing by you, especially when you've said or implied you would. If you're unable to for your own reasons that's one thing, but choosing to neglect your duties as punishment to all in response to the actions of some, seems like bad practice.

Not meaning to sound preachy, just my 2c

I think competition rules are competition rules and those who have entered either abide by them or they do not.

Posting a few sentences in a few stock threads once a month is not really that big a deal, especially if you have an interest in those companies. It makes the competition more interesting and it helps keep the forum active.

Take a little, give a little. This shouldn't be a big deal and I'm surprised that it is.

@mullokintyre Ok Mick time to draw a line in the sand.
None compliance with them thar rules disqualifies these entrants.

Completely agreed with you here @Joe Blow , but admittedly, life does get in the way at times, and this is understandable. As a suggestion for anyone who does find it difficult to remember (and I have found it hard to at times), a simple reminder on the mobile phone on the last weekend of each month works great. That calendar function is a serious go-to!

Mick, I have posted in my four picks. Can you have a look. Suggest some of the others may have been missed as the last couple of years, most have been reliable
