Hi All,

The Intention of the post is NOT to create another breakout of arguments, BUT more to establish what level of moderation that Members think should be Adhered to here, if any at all.

This is not thread moderation about charts, lack of content or ramping for that matter, but about Abusive Behaviour, Discrimination in Any Form, Personality Attacks & Clashes or Offensive Material

Put simply, am looking for Poll numbers, and not comments in any form (no exception please), hence don't want this thread closed, and would ask this be respected.

I hope this will serve to steer what the greater number of ASF members want to keep this forum one of the best and assist the Moderators accordingly.

Thanks
Happy New Year.

i think the moderators here do moderately well
and rarely do we have to fear they'll ring the bloody bell
like moderators everywhere, in parliament or pubs
or those that care for kindy kids, or those that bathtub bubs.

Lets not forget that this is Joe’s site, this is his business hopefully breadwinner, and irrespectively of what we want, Joe has the right and obligation to maintain this site so his business does not suffer due to too severe and too lenient moderation.

In the age of Blogs, any foul mouth or doormat can open site and go for it.

Thanks Happy,

I am fully aware of that, and posted this with the intention of better understanding what members/customers are feeling on the subject.

After all if majority of asf members/customers were unhappy, I'm sure Joe or anyone else running a forum/business would want to know early...

The stats say it all, and clearly with no NOISE... :D

There's a certain irony in this, but has anyone noticed an increase in people getting up on their high horse and starting to preach???

Sure Kgee,

But this is not the thread to vent it in, unless you intend taking this thread elsewhere.

If you feel the need too, start a new thread.

here's the moderation i am receiving.,.

Default BMN/DYL/TOE
MB, Why has DYL or TOE have more potential than BMN. You can't just drop these one liners with no substance behind it. I see you've made some comments on the DYL thread about looking to buy more - why? Lets try and pass on some information in the forum. Cheers.

I'm here for the entertainment.
The moderators seem capable of drawing a fair line in the sand in terms of ridding the site of gratuitous muck (and blatant rampers).
We all hide behind nicks and should otherwise be free to post "lawfully".
From a "lay" market commentary perspective the site is the best in Australia and we should foster more contributors (rather than "lurkers").

Would be good to keep getting bigger and better.

Do you feel that level of moderation is too much, too little or spot on?
Its Spot on Doc,

If I fart on this forum I know its ok!
Turn it into a yes-sir site were every comment could be a slur, then its a dead site!

Bob.

With time numbers will probably change, so far just under 60
This barely represents 1% of total members.

If any changes will be implemented just because of this little exercise, will be best confirmation of vocal minority controlling silent majority.

I think they do a great job. Noone will be perfect but they are quite good. Hats off.

While I do agree with MalteseBull that Kennas can be a bit excessive or suggestive (of ramping) sometimes.

We should be able to post our opinions without much to back it up, as they are our opinions, we dont need anything to back it up.

If you make a statement though, then would help to have facts behind it.

However I feel there is nothing wrong with letting everyone know you heard something, as you may genuinely have, even if all it was was from a friend, an email or from another site. It all equals information and if we state what type, ie fact from an article, rumour through the grapevine, then the rest of us should be able to judge and weigh the quailty up for ourself.

I for one, would like all information available, in whatever form it may be, but would also like to know the backing behind the info (ie personal opinion, expert article, newspaper, price per lb, calculation, announcement, research, rumour, heard from a friend, got it from tarot cards).

All information is good for traders and investors!

Happy, I found this really negative.
I think the poll gives the so called 'silent majority' a great chance for feedback and remain silent.
Generally polls survey a only small percentage of their target but generally they are a fair reflection .

Providing you are happy to extrapolate 1% by 100 fold of course, or only 50 when it eventually becomes 2%

Most times they get it right. I was most happy with their speed in removing the Paris Hilton stuff which was pr0n. Also, I think Kennas is the best moderator going around. Nice thread SevenFX.

Joe has directed us to be more vigilant of ramping. At the end of the day, it isn't the number of posts that sets ASF apart, but the quality and it's something we're willing to put the hours into to maintain.

We're not draconian and we understand most ramps are just people getting a little carried away with their holdings. That's why we talk to people.

In a perfect world, I agree - however there is always the occasional unscrupulous poster.

Nice to know you agree with me that most times they get it right.

I guess your opinion of whom the best moderator is depends on whom you are. MB doesn't agree with you. So far I have had good experiences with moderators and think they do a good job, as without this website would be full of junk, eg I think Kennas did a good job on the DYL thread today.

Unfortunately I missed the Paris Hilton stuff!!!
