I've received a message from a German Shepherd breeder to ask if I know of anyone who may be able to take a 6 year old Shepherd, fully professionally obedience trained, great with young children and other dogs, whose owners are moving to an apartment and can't take the dog, Khan, with them. I haveseveral photographs of Khan who is really beautiful. Tried to attach them to this post but gave up because it was taking for ever. Can sendthem via email if anyone would like to see him.

If anyone has been considering having a dog, although I don't know this particular dog, I know the breeder well and she has very high standards. If you have never had a German Shepherd and get one, whether it is a puppy or an adult dog, you will be unlikely to ever again consider any other breed.

If anyone thinks they could be interested or would simply be prepared to save this beautiful dog from being dumped at the pound, please PM me.

Khan is the best name I have heard for a German Shepherd since "Kaiser".

I used to work really late at night with the door to the office open, one night while I was working this massive german shepherd walks in, inside I'm like "oh **** i'm dinner", then he starts wagging his talk and comes and sits at my feet while I worked! (And came over many nights after that too)

They're great natured dogs and if I didn't live in a terrace I would take you up on your offer Julia!

Julia, Does the breeder have a photo on their website? That might provide more indications of the dog's training and temperament as well.

Shepherds are glorious. In many ways the doggiest of dogs

Cheers,

Ghoti (friend of mutts)

Hi Chicken,

I've emailed the NZ organisation (what a great idea) to see if they can suggest anything similar in Oz.

I'm sure Khan could be temporarily housed until you were ready for your dog. The breeder would undoubtedly have him with her dogs until March.
She says he is an exceptionally beautifully natured dog, happy to play, go for long walks, or just sit beside you - whatever you want at the time.
Your location doesn't matter - I think he is in NSW. I'd be happy to make a contribution towards relocation if I knew he was going to a loving home.

What do you think?

Julia

Her back neighbours have a shepherd so i thought maybe they would want a playmate for him...you can try my dad as well...Charlie on ** **** ****.

I wonder if these poor people would appreciate their contact details being posted on a public forum like that?
