I didn't realise that was a nautical term, Captain. I do think we're trapped in the doldrums in 2023.

I went through the doldrums at 1.5 knots. Stifling. Couldn't be on deck from 10am to 2pm. Saw a waterspout, went through a pod of orcas, got paid.

Oh, and crossed the equator for the first time, at sea,, and all that entails. 1975.

Another month done and dusted, a quarter of the way through 2023. Like most, up and down, though in March it was a poor start and a rally over the last 10 days, with XAO ending at 7373.

And that puts our straddlers in the box seat:

A third of the way through 2023, and the XAO has a good month, finishing April at 7501.
(XJO finished at 7309)
