I've been having trouble accessing Yahoo Finance in recent times, mainly after and before trading hours but sometimes during the day. I decided to try using a VPN to see if I was being Geo-blocked by Yahoo Finance, and sure enough I was.

As soon as I connect through the VPN I was able to access Yahoo Finance again.

Has anyone else had this experience?
It's rather annoying.

my browser automatically adds 'au.' to the front of the address and i have to personally delete that to access the US site

( i don't normally use a VPN )

Same here, i google "finance.yahoo" then can select the US site
otherwise it tries to redirect you to the .au localised version
Part of my morning wake up routine as i check the state of the US market in the early morning hours
No need for VPN

The page that can't be accessed sometimes, especially once the trading day has ended is:

au.finance.yahoo.com

I assume that this is because Yahoo is trying to prioritize those countries that are coming online. Fair argument but i am not sure.

Ok so you are in us trying to access Oz version.
I faced the opposite problem but never had issues accessing the US page once i directly entered the URL

yes my 'smart' ( apparently ) automatically inserts au. to the front of the url once i search for Yahoo Finance , so i have to spot it and manually delete the 'helpful' addition , maybe i will try Yahoo Finance pages in other jurisdictions next week for fun and research
