Ok...this is going to be a long shot but I'm getting desperate.

I am a university graduate with a BA of Commerce, having majored in Marketing & Business Law. As you are all well aware...the jobs market is extremely tough, and for someone like myself (young, fresh graduate), nigh on impossible. Therefore, I am making myself known to the friendly members of ASF; in the hope of some sort of work being offered.

I have a year's experience in Supply Chain/Logistics, as well as a year's experience in Sales & Marketing. I am currently looking to get my foot in the door with any firm who can give me work in either of these fields, and would even be willing to dedicate my time voluntary. Basically, I would like to gain more exposure to work experience and beef up my qualifications.

If you or any counterparts have any work (in the Melbourne Metro Area) and believe you could offer me anything in relation to what I have posted, please PM me :)

Thank you for your time!

JTLP

P.S Joe I hope I haven't infringed on any rules here...

i'll chuck up an advert aswell

i'm B.Comm (Finance), graduating June this year.

Looking for (any) work!

Whilst you're all looking for work why not do a permaculture course. You could at least feed yourself. They run courses in city locations. Most people in the city areas have no idea how to grow anything and keep it healthy.

Milkwood Permaculture has great courses and contacts in NSW. I'm sure other states have contacts. I think it will be a growing area of learning not just for the "Green" aspect for the basic one of healthy food.

Water Harvesting
Keyline Permaculture

All great things to learn on the side while your waiting for the big break.

Good Luck!:)

I actually should add some more information:

I am looking for work in any industry, and my primary focus for roles are (although as mentioned earlier...any work experience/opportunity would be greatly appreciated):

- Consulting
- Account Management
- Business/Market Analyst
- Strategy

I also live close to public transport and possess my own vehicle.

Thanks again :)

Alot of the financial /professional service companies such as Deloitte, UBS, Macquarie Bank, KPMG, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, NAB, CBA etc are all hiring graduates. But better be quick because i believe the deadline for apps is end of March.

Cheaper to go to the green grocers surely, people spending their lives trying to get a lettuce to grow are fantasies from Gilligans Island:rolleyes:

Your such a dependable misanthropic spark. Well, if the day comes and the stores have run out of fresh produce you can come and buy it off me at a reasonable rate...though all the hardwork and knowledge will be priced in.:cool:If your Merc gets bogged I'll winch you out.:rolleyes:for a fee

Like your cars you like instant gratification without much effort in anything. I thought you oldies had some staying power:eek:

And for those that would rather have Green Concrete than a veggie patch or perhaps something a little more creative or pleasant to look at my young bloke who recently started his own business is also looking for work in Melbourne Metro, preferably eastern to sth eastern suburbs.

His work is of a high standard, I taught him:D

Ahh nothing wrong if you're into green concrete.

I was just making a suggestion.

Quite a few people I know in the business world (yes have contacts in high positions from the land of electricity), have noticed that some people who are used to a certain profession, salary and lifestyle just point blank refuse to look at other alternatives for income. Some of those coming off a high salary to employment is a shock and to contemplate a "lesser profession" is unthinkable.

I'm assuming your just about to finish your uni studies, like myself, so have you started applying for any trading positions 'white_goodman'? And if i may, why lend lease?

When you come out of uni do the only thing a uni degree is good for (espically arts) - get a job a McDonalds.

well i will be apply to propex in september, I just missed out for February.

Lend Lease is because I'm doing a property economics degree, so all the property firms/LPT's that run grad programs i apply for, also any super fund/managed fund with a high amount of property allocation. Also cos im currently in a 2 year undergrad program at another property firm...

but ultimately i wanna trade for a living so ill take that career route as far as I can till I can trade for a living either prop or from home

Quite wrong. It all depends on the individual, and their own merits - not the type of education, nor the university / other facility of which said education was undertaken.

Quite a few post-University students find it hard to get work, but that's because they expect too much, and don't put in the hard yards. I know of one individual who went to TAFE, and was earning over 200k for quite a few years. What does that mean? Nothing. All it means is that this individual had the drive for success. Make no mistake, tertiary education often only gives you the help in getting an interview, but after that - you're on your own, and need to continually keep yourself learning.
