Where do you gather your data from?

I'd like to know where I can get data like EBIT, EBITDA, NET ASSETS etc from?
ETRADE and ASX I don't think have this facility except by going through each company details.
I like to be able to get the list of them in one or few searches.

Are there free websites or software that can help me to gather this information?
I will get a proper software once I know what features I need.

I can only give you half an answer, no doubt others will chip in.
With technology improvements in software, there is a trend towards software going in two directions.
That is, a platform you trade from, and software that you set up both tech. and fundamental analysis. i.e end of day. These compliment each other.
The answer depends on what variation of trading technique you would like to use.
i.e. Gann, Elliott etc, technical or fundamental.
Paritech have Pulse as a platform and Metastock as the MAJOR scanning and set up facility.
The platform used to have a fundamental Marketscan attached as well.
Metastock comes with a book so big you need a wheelbarow to move it.

Pulse has fundamentals as you have listed at the touch of the cursor. The pages of fundamentals dock on top of one another in a window. So you can set up a 4 pane window with watch list, depth, chart (with indicators) and fundamentals.

You realy need a list of what you require, then do a trial if you can get one.
One tip I will give you, if they have not got everything you require do not believe it will be coming in the next upgrade. So is Santa Claus.

This is not a sales pitch, just an explaination. Trading is realy a simple exercise, its the people who are making it complicated. People want "bells and whistles".
Remember its all in the chart, but fundmentals are handy. Its not hard to work out that a combination of fundamental and technical should give a reasonable outcome.

they still do have MarketScan. But it's no longer a part and parcel of PULSE; you have to ask for it separately.

I haven't actually hopped on and checked for you, but I believe ETRADE have an advanced stock filter where you can show a number of different financials and ratios etc.

I haven't managed to get what I am looking for from ETRADE.
Maybe I am not using it right.

That software looks pretty good. The choices on fundamental search is pretty impressive.
However the software is only as good as the data they supply.

I use mainly the "technical" date for trades, and they are real-time online.
I can ask one of their gurus to reply directly to your Q's.

I use Paritech after midnight data, its not the cheapest but their datadirector programme puts it in to my trusty very old version of Metastock daily, without a glitch, year in year out. I don't go for fundamental stuff at all.
