What would your 'last meal' be?

For years, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice kept meticulous records regarding the 'last meals' ordered by inmates about to be put to death. It's a fascinating list in many ways and while going through it, I wondered if I were ever in that situation, what meal would I choose?

After some thought I decided that my last meal would be a rich Beef Stroganoff, served with creamy potato bake and a few freshly baked bread rolls on the side. Dessert would be a freshly prepared sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce.

In this scenario we can choose an alcoholic beverage (just one, unlike real inmates who get none) to accompany our meal. In this case, my beef stroganoff would be accompanied by a (large) glass of Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz.

Anyone else like to propose their 'final meal'? :D
 
Roast Lamb, Fresh Garden Veges, Gravy, Pepper, Warm Bread roll, Glass of Red ..... (and lastly a cigarette)

pretty consistant stuff,

the moral of the story- avoid anywhere that sells fried chickens, hamburgers or double dogs I think they call them and you will avoid the scum of the world!

Watch this video of Ron Paul dropping the F Bomb on Fox for a good laugh. The interviewers looked like they puked in their mouths when he dropped the F Bomb. He couldn't have hit a little too close to home could he...

 
I expected that to draw a response.

Anyone who would have ordered an entree or caviar would not of been on death row. They would of been able to afford decent legal representation to get them out of the predicament.

But a lot of the victims were in a similar scenario. Normally meaning the same would apply with the attackers.

Different class of criminals, those who ate the burgers and double dogs ended up getting fried!!!

Ooooh Socrates would have a ball with this.

Anyhoooz for the record, I'd have a decent pizza (capriciosa) and beer (hefe weisbier). Not what I normally eat, what I normally consume has long term health in mind (and flavour godammit!! :D) so rarely indulge.

Seeing as you're going to croak, what the hell.
 
Flake, chips, steamed dim sims, fresh battered calamari rings (not crumbed!), some pickled onions and a selection of good, clean, ice cold beers. Consumed in the sand to a sun setting over Port Phillip Bay.
 
Can anyone give a review of what these meals were actually like? I don't want to go out, and then discover it wasn't any good.

Gorilla, I'm coming to your execution dinner as well!! LOVE fish and chips on the beach down the Peninsula. :)

Atahualpa was sentenced to execution by burning. At the time this was not a regular method of the Spanish to execute people in their own country and it seems odd that the Conquistadors chose this extremely painful method in Peru. The Inca was particularly horrified by this as the Incas believed that the soul would not be able to go on to the afterlife if the body was burned. Friar Valverde, who had earlier tried to convert Atahualpa, intervened again, telling Atahualpa that if he agreed to convert to Christianity he would convince Pizarro to change the sentence to a more reasonable way of death. Atahualpa agreed to be baptized and was given the name Juan Santos Atahualpa and, in accordance with his request, was strangled instead of being burned.


This entire episode was critical in the history of Peru and the Spanish Conquest. It is also a blight on the Spanish people and Christianity, in that it would take such action for the sake of gold and silver. But, perhaps this is just being human.
