What free TA software can import ascii (.txt) historical data and EOD (.txt)?

Hi,

I am playing the ASX stock market game. And in the process of learning.
I have used several TA software programs these inc
Amibroker (trial)
Ninja Trader
Wealth Lab

the problem I am facing is getting accurate data into any program.
Yahoo is hit/miss at best. example TOL.AX data ends in feb, and start again on the 25th March.
I have downloaded historical records and so far the most complete package that seems to work is amibroker.
imports historical data, and then EOD and provides what appears to be an overall full set.

I'd like to try something else before making a purchase. BUT DUE TO THE proprietary nature of these programs it would seem you either need to manually convert it to some default format aka metastock. which would be fine if I could find something that would actually do this.

my historical data is in
symbol,date,open,close.high,low,volume format.
and includes all the symbols in one file. That is.
AAD.....
AAC......

can anyone recommend either
a way to import this into ninja trader/wealthlab
or
a compatible FREE app that will import it.

as I would like to try and learn a bit about TA using a full set of data (reliable and constant) during the game.

I can not for the life of me understand why Yahoo is a credible source? I have found it to be way off many times - granted its free !

Ok, how about another question?, What do you guys use, both program and you data source. From the posts I have read seems most have a paid provider, which at this stage I am unable/willing to do.

Wealthlab was very promising, but does not seem to be able to import historical data in the format I have it in.
Ninjatrader, I like (kinda) but again, requires formatting of the data before it will read it.

any others worth trying? I don't mind if it has to rely on Yahoo, but it must be able to import THE DATA

You could use Yloader for your data gathering. Import to AB.

But AmiBroker is the only software that seems to import the data? the other Apps are the ones having trouble?
Also because its a trial version it will not save.. So I'd like to find another preferably free software that I can evaluate, using existing historical and EOD ascii files.

here was the data yesterday... all relying on yahoo.
TOL.AX in a program bit hard to read BUT no quotes after 31/1



TOL.AX in Ninjatrader (yesterday) line is on 28/2??? (I did reload yahoo data yesterday its does this automatically when connected but it only showed upto 28/2)
a reload today and everything to the right of the line was added??? what gives

I have the same problem using Yahoo Data in Ninja (useless). Currently TOL.AX showing to 26/3 despite the Yahoo Finance site having correct quote.
This is probably not what you are seeking as a solution, however I use Esignal Data into Ninja. Cost is about $40 p/mth for 20min delayed.
