After running an advanced search and only seeing 1 resulting thread that held something similar I thought I would throw out a question in this new one.

The question is .... AmiBroker Backtest Report Results, what are some general results that people have/look for in a system?

I found and read through the only thread that I could find that had something similar and thought I would link it here, it is for
CAR - Compound Annual rate of Return

Just a general link added that could be of use also...
Howard Bandy "Quantitative Trading Systems" & systems design Q&A

Expected returns from a TA system

This I guess can only be answered by people actually trading their system, SO IF there is people out there with a working system who would spare a few minutes of forum time to post some general results im sure it would be appreciated by those of us heading down the system design hiway...

64 views and no replies, what a waste of time posting...

why is ther no delete button let alone why is it so hard to find how to cancel an account!

Your best bet would be to post (or search) your questions on one of the amibroker yahoo groups.

You should obtain a solution quicker than on here for specific questions :)

I have searched and read many AB threads in here and also had a small look at Yahoo, but thanks for an answer all the same :) Im really starting to think this forum is on a par with the Optionetics one (not a good thing at all). :D

People on this forum are quite helpful
Your attempts to have a dig at the forum are quite rude.

This certainly won't endear you to anyone

People here are helpful but only upon recieving a reply or finding a similar thread to the topic in question! I have always thanked the people who have taken time and replied to one of my questions but I do think a valid question isnt asking too much of some answers. Isnt that the whole point of a forum?
If people take the time to enter the thread and read it I dont see the hassle in leaving a simple reply, sure if it's an in depth question ok I can understand people often not having the time to spend 30 minutes or whatever in writing a reply but a simple question surely isn't too much to hope for a simple reply?

This certainly won't endear you to anyone

So I should try to become popular so I can get replies? Maybe offer free 'Jelly Beans' or something! How does one become part of the 'in' crowd so as to get valid replies... :D or maybe there is a dark secret belief with traders on forums that think they might accidently let out the holy grail when a question of 'general results' is asked. :D

Im sure you've also had a look through the user knowledge base? A lot of helpful information in there

http://www.amibroker.com/kb/
http://www.amibroker.org/userkb/ (this is one written by users)

Also this message board has a dedicated amibroker section with some good information

http://www.traderji.com/amibroker/ (theres quite a few gurus on here that seem to answer questions quite frequently from my observations)

I cant answer your query directly as I'm still an amibroker/system creation newb my self but have found the above resources a good start along with Howard Bandy's books :)

Perhaps no one has an answer.
Perhaps not everyone here uses Amibroker.
Perhaps not everyone utilises mechanical systems.
Perhaps not everyone here performs backtesting.
I wasn't even aware of this topic until I saw it pop up today.

You have certainly got replies for other posts e.g. Sticking to calls and puts thread.

Not everyone has the answers, but that doesn't mean you go and flame ASF as low quality when you can't get one.
You sound like a little child

The original question is far too general for any specific responses

Yeah I am always looking through the AmiBroker site myself but I'll be sure to check out 'tradeji' if that's an Indian site then I have looked in that also :)
I definately spend the time looking/searching before starting a new thread and have spent many hours reading some great posts here in thios forum and I too am slowly making my way through Howards QTS book while playing trial and error...
Thanks for the reply, curious if are you actually in NZ?

and getting answers is all part of being a member in a forum! and they were great answers and like I said I always thank those involved... :)

As for the 'flaming of ASF', I think you just took a bit of tongue in cheek WAAAY to serioulsy or to heart, maybe Optionetics nabbed you for some hard earned cash also and your still a little bitter, who knows but your reply about my question being too general is fair enough and maybe something that one of the 68 visitors could have mentioned even though I disagree.
