A belated whinge about last year's state budget ?
Give me strength.
There must be an election soon and I think this action will be a negative for the Labor side.
One thing that's changed is there's a new treasurer in town and I suspect he'll be more disciplined than his predecessor.Hope he digs his heels in, and tells them to sod off and teach, rather than run Labor Party agendas.IMO
If there was not a Senate election upcoming this strike would not be occurring.
Plain & simple.
It appears there is no win for the W.A Government.
The W.A Goverment was going to be shafted by Labor, under Gonski funding, because they spent too much on education.
Now the highest paid teachers in Australia are S###ting in their own nests.lol

Nothing like cannon fodder.
All just my opinions, from watching news reports and forming a personal opinion. I may be wrong, just a chat.
As I read it 2 of your 3 links, the ones connected to salary, are from 2012.
How are these connected to the current concerns?
You stated that this is about State Governments trying to cut Education funding costs.
Don't you think the teachers wages are a part of the funding model?
Therefore the fact the teachers are the highest paid in the country, does have a bearing.
Also the fact they enact militant action just before elections, makes their sincerity questionable.IMO
It smacks of union manipulation for political mileage, they are becoming monotonous with their predictability, and questionable motives.
As I said, just my opinion, I hope I'm wrong. But I don't hear teachers offering up any sacrifices for the common good.
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten was preparing to appear at a teachers rally - just as he did the week before September's poll.
On the matter of timing, is this coincidence ?

Apparently not, drsmith, it is all about the kids.
Shame the teachers couldn't have a rally to call for longer school terms, and maybe give up one weeks annual leave.
Now that would help the kids.
OMG, shock horror, wash your mouth out, what am I thinking of.
Bill though while there in person I suspect will be less keen this time than he was during the September election campaign.Cripes ...
Federal education minister Bill Shorten also addressed the crowds, saying the cuts were typical of conservative governments.
Mr Shorten urged voters nationwide to turn their backs on the Liberal Party, in light of Tony Abbott's expressed admiration for Premier Colin Barnett's governing style.
"This really highlights what is at risk on Saturday in the federal election. Do not let Tony Abbott do to schools in Australia what Colin Barnett is already doing to schools in Western Australia," Mr Shorten said.
To me it's wrong that people bring children as active participants in political protests.
Cripes ... What narrow thinking. Teacher salaries are adjusted to their "working weeks" and distributed over 52 weeks.
Their fantastic salaries can be Googled.
And of course "anyone can teach". And anyone can criticise.
The percentage of teachers with Masters Degrees and Doctorates is rapidly growing with no financial recompense. Check the stats on teacher retention rather than shooting from the hip.
Have you any idea of what most teachers and Principals do with far more than one week of their holidays?
So: Let's tell them all that they are selfish and suggest they do something more meaningful than educating our children. Maybe charities will take over.
Of course cuts need to occur but, any any level of intelligence, please don't disguise this as reform... And keep kids first.
I don't know what you guys do for a living, but would hope not to denigrate it.... I'd only suggest that your thinking on this issue could possibly be narrow.
As for a political stance I have never considered this but may contact the Sex Party for their view on educating our children in an increasingly complex world.
