Hi guys what's the best way for me to get a Visa Debit card?

I've noticed St Georges offer it, but they have a $3k account minimum before you begin to pay fees, I dont want to have that money in there. Is there any sort of international debit I can refill from any account when I'm travelling overseas(which is what i'll be doing next year)?

so somthing along the lines of pre-pay account with just the usual visa debit monthly fee?

Help very much appreciated

I have an ANZ Visa debit card. Monthly fee is $6.

There's no minimum deposit, but I think the max you can have on it is $5k.

I know Westpac offer a Mastercard debit card for free if you hold a personal transaction account with them. Only charges are your monthly account fees, so if you're student you get it all for free.

this is correct, I have a few customers that use these however have had more problems processing these particular ones for some reason.

You can open other account at st george such as incentive saver all you need is maintain AU$600 balance only and you will get visa debit card.
other options you might have a look at bendigo bank.

I have a Westpac Debit MasterCard, there are fees but only after about 15 transactions a month (I think?) and you do have to have Westpac accounts to use it and of course link it too.

I use mine regularly both in Australia and Europe without any problems, if you use it overseas then find out the partner bank in the country you’re in for discounted fees and charges on cash withdrawals, just phone Westpac before you leave for that info.

IMO, the Westpac Debit MasterCard is currently the best if you’re after a Debit Card

Check with Bill express (BXP).
They have or are about to launch a prepaid visa debit card which can be toped up.
Sounds like they may fit what you are chasing.
Let me know how you go, as a share holder I would be interested what a user thinks of their services.
Cheers & good luck.

Statewest Credit Society/ Home Building Society woud be my best bet. I am also with them and have the Visa Debit Card. Haven't had any problems at all.

If you have $500 or more in your account, you don't have to pay fees. They have been great to me.
