November 26.

The polling a couple of weeks ago was showing Labor winning by a bigger percentage than last time (which was their biggest win ever previously) but it has come back in recent polling somewhat (at least according to the Murdoch Press) which is good.

The Libs desperately need new members and to win a few seats back. The rump that is there now has had a few of the worst members removed but the fact that they have Matthew Guy (now Matt in the adds) returning as leader after their last loss says it all.

I am hoping, in particular, that John Pesutto wins the blue rinse seat of Hawthorn. He could be an excellent leader in the future.
In all the seats history from 1889 it has never fell into Labor hands before last election which shows how abysmally the Libs performed.

(The Libs are pretty broke + it didn't help that Krogers mate from Tazzy who was left in charge of funds doing the dodgy and stealing the Lib funds forcing them to sell their main asset, the LIb building in Exhibition Street).

Also not helping is the ICAC investigation going on due to the previous campaign director (just a few months ago). Matt Guy is also famous for his lunch with the mafia as well as other stuff. Honestly Daniel Andrews must pinch himself every day, such amazing luck because he has his own problems but the Vic LIbs keep wanting to trump him even though they aren't in power!

Also some of the other "luck" Daniel Andrews has received from the Vic Libs include Tim (nicknamed Dim Tim) Smith getting pissed and crashing his car into a house and leader of the upper house David Davis getting pissed in a local brewery and abusing the staff because they ran out of the squid dish he ordered (and still keeping his job).

You can watch Tim crash if you watch the (30 second!) add in front of the newscorp video.

Anyway, I really want them to do better but they aren't ready for government yet.

Screw them. They look like a flaming mess. Having to sell "Lib hq" because of a thieving POS is comedy level sht. They deserve what they get.
Yes and look at the consequences of that; making the most egregious authoritarian leader, probably in Australian history, look like the only electable choice.

If only people realised choice is not a binary.

As a non-Victorian I'll simply observe that watching debate play out is rather like watching some class of school kids explain what they'd do if they were Premier or PM.

The stuff being proposed really is the kind of thing school kids would come up with. Free lunches, cheap train rides and so on. It's a very long way from the sort of intellectual debate we need about solving real, actual problems. :2twocents

I guess it shows how it all depends on the demographic, how many Victorians live in Melbourne, as opposed to the regions?

I must say Victoria is the one state of Australia I've never quite "got".

Find the regulations concerning just about anything and Victoria will have a more extreme version of it. Anything from household electrical work to speed cameras, Victoria's the most over the top when it comes to heavy handed approaches. There's quite a list of things where there's a national requirement except in Victoria where it's something far stricter. :2twocents

I found it a bit strange, when walking with the wife from the cruise terminal into Melbourne CBD and return, when you passed people coming the other way there is absolutely no acknowledgement or greeting of any sort.
They look straight ahead, never look to the side, never smile etc.
In W.A and Adelaide, if you nodded, smiled or said good morning, there was always a returned greeting or smile.
Melbournites must be expecting to be mugged or something, maybe there is a regulation in Victoria that says you have to look miserable. ?

Ready or not, they can't be worse than Dictator Dan. Anyone in Vic that votes for Andrews needs their head read.

I am voting for the Libs. Just saying they could have won if they had of run their party a bit better and got a better leader.
They may still win but I doubt it.

I am not happy with their performance over the last two years. They were MIA when Dan was locking people up and mandating medical treatments or you would lose your job. I will vote for a number of minor parties ahead of the Liberals that did stand up for Victorians but as the lesser of two evils I will preference them over Labor. They have said they will repeal the Pandemic legislation he passed with the help of the traitors on the cross bench in the upper house, that is a start.

Indeed.

Google it and it all ties together.
Who would be a CMO ? Damned if you do and damned if you don't. If he recommended no covid action an death rates shot up he would b e accused of murdering thousands of people. As it is he's being used as a political weapon to get Andrews.

The means justifies the ends.

Actually both should be in gaol.
