how's everyone doing,

Im hoping someone can be of assistance, and tell me how it is exactly that you can transfer images such as charts and other images from one programe to another, for example a chart from Incredible Charts pro to a thread here in the ASF.

Open to all options that work.

thanx

Hi StockyBailz,

I want to know myself, i am trying to see if it'll work.
what i am trying to do is do a print screen of my computer screen and saved it as a image. upload it and then insert it in the forum.

Hm.. hope that'll work

Hypnotic,

You can display images in your posts by two different methods.

The first is by using image tags
as you have above, but rather than inserting a filename in between them there needs to be a valid URL to an image file somewhere on the web. (e.g. http://www.anydomain.com/image.jpg)

Alternatively, you can upload up to three images per post using the 'Manage Attachments' option you will find while typing out your post. You successfully uploaded an image using this process in your first post in this thread. There is a more detailed description of this process here: https://www.aussiestockforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2522

Hope that helps.

Joe Blow, thanks for your input, I will look up those URL's and see what I can get
thankx

Hydnotic, yer noworry's won't try that one. Anyway, while were on the subject of figuring things out, I posted a message to your Candle Stick charting inquiry.

Ive send you the answer to your question, although much like your post i think I have given you a wrong URL link. but not to dispear I know i have that link in question in another thread of mine to do with Purhasing software. I will get back to you.

thankx.

Further to Joe's post, to use IMG tags to images on the Web, you can upload your images to one of a number of public image servers and link to them. One slight advantage of doing that is that you can then put text before and after the image, which you can't do with attachments (as far as I'm aware). However, don't make the images too big, as the image servers generally have daily bandwidth limits per image.

I use Image Shack, but there are quite a few others too.

Avoid hotlinking to images on other Websites though, as they don't generally like it. It's called bandwidth theft, and some sites take unpleasant steps like changing the image to something else - something gaudy and embarrassing ;).

:cautious: Great Pig, image stack appeared interesting, I unloaded it for a sticky beck, waited for it to download on to Nescape 8.0 but I had to wait most the morning for it to appear. So I was unpatient and deleted it before it had a chance.
So I'm just wondering is the screen suppost to appear Black for that long before it does open? when or if you get back to me in a accumalative time frame, how is it that you also shrink or sub title if you like, that Link?

How large was the image you uploaded? And how were you trying to view it in Netscape?

It sounds like you had some problem with accessing the image. I uploaded all the images for my Japan report to Image Shack, and they would appear almost instantly in my browser (Firefox) when I added the link to my blog report and refreshed.

You need to use the right link format too, depending on where you're putting it. Forums like this require a different link format to a blog site or a standard Web site, which is why they provide a number of options.

Cheers,
GP
