Are you fellas excited?

Flip I am. Just seen Friday Night Live at Bathurst. Flippin choice.

Provisional pole has BOC Fabs as number 1.....hey hes a Kiwi.....

Next at 2nd super hot fastest is Van Giz....hey hes a Kiwi as well.....

Hey, are there any Aussies in this race

Yep I'm keen!!

Causing a few hiccups with this new surface, fast but seems to be catching a few of them out, should be an awesome race, we'll see if there's a Kiwi there at the end hey? : Although I don't mind the giz, not a bad steerer. Friday Night Live was great, should do more of that with the V8s, more fun stuff

Either Red Bull or either HRT are my tips for the win. Don't think qually matters much with 161 laps around the mountain!

Im hoping Scotty in the Volvo does it. Ever since that kick ass win at Adelaide, hes so exciting to watch. Reckon he would have been a championship contender this year if not for reliability. Remember Winton he was unbeatable, then car failures

Rock on the top 10 shootout

Got to hand it to you NZ guys, you are unbelievably good in the wet.

So you better start praying for some rain.

Yep agreed, I would have said Scotty but I have ZERO faith in it making the distance, but it would be awesome if he did it, love Scotty and the Volvo, best looking car out there, and a fantastic surprise in its first year, Clipsal was epic! I really hope he gets the win too, just that damn reliability makes it a massive IF

Yep, Shane is superfast in the wet.
Make that the dry too Pole position.

Scotty in 3 and Fabs in 5.

1 HRT down, wonder if Greg will wreck the other

Anyway boys, best of luck to your Aussie contenders, if a Kiwi kicks ass, Ill be back telling yas how awesome we all are

I've always wanted to go to Bathurst...ya think the series will still be around in a couple years?

I think it will, but with MUCH less fans, with the move to Foxtel(although you can't get much more appalling than Ch.7) and with Holden and Ford on the brink of being no more, it will be a very different looking series in a few years in my opinion.

This race is insane today, don't think they should've suspended the race though, just take it slower or have a permanent yellow flag so no one goes offline through T2. Hope that Volvo stays together, Scotty doing awesome. Can't help but think that bloody Jamie is going to snatch this though, ridiculous pace.

While it's not a good idea to run out of juice on the final lap, I'm amazed the support team can pick that to within half a lap.

That interested me too.

Best thing is that there is now a trickle of diversity of competing models. I'd like the race to have the return of the classes, with the new Cooper S's and BMW's Jaguars, Audis etc to increase the interest, now that Ford and Holden will be departing as manufacturers.

Haven't watched the Great Race for many, many a year but this year certainly made up for it. So much high drama, one could not have scripted it better!

BTW, anyone take the TattsBet that any car other than Holden would win?

Ever since the introduction of the "safety car" and the subsequent stacking, the Great Race has become somewhat of a procession. Stay on the lead lap and then it is a sprint at the end. Great for an exciting finish but the first three quarters of the race is just about hanging in there and staying in one piece. There is absolutely no point in the leader of the race gaining a big margin in front as it will all be lost when the next accident results in the "safety car" being deployed.

When Whincup last pitted, he never had enough fuel to finish the race at full pace, except if there was enough laps completed under "safety car" conditions, when all the cars basically putt around and use minimal fuel.

I like the good old days, no "safety car" and a real incentive for the leader to actually gain a lead.

Ill get over it.

Bet you Aussies were pooing your pants thou.

Us Kiwis spooking yas

Who heard the "F" word outside their house at lap 120?

The noise crossed the Tasman from my house.

What about lap 151?

That's right, the swearing ya heard crossed the ditch again.

Gotta admit, you Aussies put on a good show. Awesome to see Chazzy and fatboy take it out

I went to Bathurst in 2002 when my hero Mark kicked butt

Always one who has to try and be a smarty alec:bad:

Have you had much luck at winning in the local fiercely competitive "snakes and ladders competition" cobber

I did feel sorry for van Ginseberg but I don't now.

:aus:

OK Joe, I shall be better behaved and readdress SirRumpoles post.

I did feel sorry for van Ginseberg
Same SirRumpole, I was devastated, in disbelief, after Scotties unfortunate incident I felt it could not get any worse.

but I don't now.

:aus:
Likely due to yourself thinking an individual so superfast must be Aussie, till my contribution informed yourself Shane is a Kiwi
