Two Up

I was too buggered to go to the Dawn Service or the later pardae/mrch but did manage to get to the RSL this arvo.

I had an extraordianary run with two uo p

saterted with $100 bank and left with $780, there was $30 for taxi home, (Mrs G reluctantly dropped me at RSL)

Thats not including all the sharpnel I put in Legacy bucket.

Is 2 up better than stocks , who knows.

am $750 up on a day asx closed!!!!!!!!!!

Good thread on this Anzac Day. Hope things are OK 4 U in the morning when you check on this.

We used to get into the two up games at the backs of the corrugated ion pubs in West Queensland after the picnic race meetings.

I was 19 years old, a very long way from home, and not a lot of shearing that particular year, so was into the publican for about $300 board and keep, a lot back then. 1965. Went to the races and did the little I had but on the last race (the place was Richmond and the Publican was a Kevin Bulmer, 6ft 4 of him) I still had 10 dollars for a roughie called Just Jim (my name happens to be James) It came home at 35 to one. I paid the publican and with my $50 lined up for the spin after sun set. Well I could not lose and with a further $300 went back to the bar. They said "you are on a roll get into it" with a helper now back we go and soon did the lot. Back to the bar and after some high powered talk the publican gave me back $200 that was a sure thing for a killing. Did the lot. A week later with the luck gone, wired my Dad for the trip back home, and to pay Kevin of course.

Moral of the story, none that I can think of but bloody good experience.
