TSLA - Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ)

@basilio
Yep but unfortunately, there will still be the anything-musk-fandom lovers, idolising every move and word of this wannabe politican.
Maybe ? I suspect these will be the rabid MAGA warriors. Don't know how many of thee drive Teslas
Of course these days they could probably buy a used one real cheap

Geez Bas, why is everything so black and white with you?
Do people like me who drive a BYD get all upset because its owned by a Chinese company run by a dictator lik XI?
Or all those who bought Fords should get rid of them because Henry Ford 2nd was arersted for being DUI?
What about Volkswagon faking the emissions tests? Should all the volkswagon owners ell them off?
I don't love or hate what Musk is doing, I don't live in America, I don't live under their rules, nor follow their cultural habits.
Perhaps what it really means is that all the Tesla owners who bought in the first place were nothing but virtue signalling wankers.
Mick

They are woke, we can call them that as it is much probably true from most buyers past the initial technology fans but you are 100% right cf politics.
A company should not get involved in politics when it is not relevant to its business.
What is interesting is that Tesla is NOT involved.
Is it?
But Elon is, which show how critical Elon is to Tesla
Tesla and Elon are one, Tesla is Elon
So i doubt it would be possible to sever that association and keep Tesla successful

If you're a business man trying to sell a product why would do things to sabotage it and your profits. Keep your politician opinions out of the media, don't piss off your customers and Tesla's main customers were democratic voters. I used to admire Musk but not anymore.

They had the chance. Decided to pay him billions instead. Once he bought X, it is obvious (in hindsight) he should have ended his time.
He could have been an executive director. New CEO would then be able to distance the company from him.
Bad miss. I am not sure they will survive .

But my point is the company is nothing wo him, you are involved in a bio Start up if i remember?
I assume innovative tech?
so you should understand anyone replacing Elon will not be able to carry on tesla as the innovative ground breaking company it is.
They will have a cfo, a ceo , a cto but no dream, a board to define priorities and back covering policies attitude
Tesla is Tesla 'cause it is
-Managed by an engineer..so science plus applied tech in one decision making post
-Is funded head over heels..first by the ice car manufacturers via these green vouchers tesla sold them: imagine a Start up earning money even dhen not productive, the dream, then the hype too over via share market
-Has a one man one truth management Nero like: true but efficient.
Getting rid of Elon would be:
(Short time boost to shares great time to get out)
100% first step to oblivion
Note
I own 5 shares since last night

No one is irreplaceable.

Sure, i can point you to the opposite in IT leading edge company again and again
And Apple as a more universally know example than my obscure IT software teyal life ones.
True, the world can do w/o
But the company being taken over or losing key persons does not survive
The usual management BS is about IP, about code comments and documentation, etc etc. I did software engineering ... but no, you do not, can not replace some people, on paper yes but only on paper.
Imho, Elon is one such guy
Anyway, i let the TDS turn into MDS and bring the popcorn

It’s not the Tesla brand that bothers me, I love my car and the charging network, it’s the fact that musk has turned out to be a Turd that bothers me.

We will see turbulence for a while, but I did see a comment that alluded that Elon was only going to be in government for a short time.
Personally I'd start to look at the stock at around $170 if it hits. $120-$150 I'd start pouring in again but thats a fantasy price at this stage. Hoping this negative sentiment hits for a bit to get the price lower.

Realistically no one cares about a bunch of blue hairs whinging. I think it all reverses if any of Trump’s moves start getting positive traction.

Everyone is acting like we didn't know what Trump was going to do. But it was pretty clear. Tariffs, lowering interest rates, stepping on the US$, US centric policy, beat out China on tech, US manufacturing. Whether he can achieve it is a different story. But it's a template to follow for markets at the moment.

Dude is a caretaker not an innovator

He was always a turd just depending on which way you leaned.
Well, I don’t agree with that, but either way look at the share price since he took over.

And I think Tesla is ready for a care taker, anything is better than Elon at the moment, and the care taker wouldn’t be trying to get paid $50 Billion while they trash the company.

Seems that Musk is the new Alan Joyce.

Scary how similar they are, both handsomely overpaid, finding themselves involved in politics and gaining favorable treatment through their lobbying, meanwhile their hubris/arrogance tanks the brand and sees their respective businesses fall into trouble, all the while being enabled by weak boards with a weak Australian chairman/woman who refused to pull them into line.

Maybe Tesla's chair should have read 'The Chairman's lounge' as a cautionary tale when it came out last year.
