Wonderful, here I am in the middle of an index warrant trade and NAB's quote screen has gone down the toilet. All quote/depth requests are just returning "blahblah is not a valid code. Please try again"

This happens a bit when things are busy, but it's been down for the last 10 minutes or so now. Just as well I can see the index movement on the ASX website, and it's currently moving in the right direction!

No idea if the order system is still working or not, but how can I use it anyway when I can't even get a basic quote let alone market depth.

The SPI has been shut down for maintenance. Could it be that the market makers have withdrawn quotes because they don't have any way to hedge

Yeah, now that I have market depth back, I see the MM is not really there. Last trade shows as 99.5c and current bid is 89c (call warrant) with almost no volume and no offers. The put warrant I was watching earlier is much the same.

And now the index seems to be turning back down <sigh>.

How do they do maintenance on a market index I wonder?

Didn't phrase that very well did I- I meant the exchange has been shut down for maintenance!

The bulletin my broker sent out said it may last for up to an hour and a half, so it should be open again this afternoon.

Great. My once profitable trade has now turned back into a loss (based on where the index was when I bought it) and all I can do is sit here, watch and hope.

Edit: looks like the hope's gone. Now there's just the sitting and watching...

And just as I was thinking of taking their crap offer, they've withdrawn that as well!

Well my call warrant is toast now, and I still can't even see what it's worth, let alone sell it.

Okay, it's back now, and not actually too bad at all, thanks to the bounce back over the last few minutes - almost back to break-even in fact

If the market keeps recovering, the nice tail on today's bar might make it worth holding on to over night.

Sheesh... now what's the story?

After a reasonable pick-up, the market looks to be pushing down a bit again and the MM has disappeared again!

Is this a case of the moment it looks like someone might want to sell they disappear until the price has dropped???
