After blowing up my first account due to having no clue, I am now papertrading.
The objective of my papertrading being to develop a controlled trading system that actually works.
I am developing an Excel spreadsheet that assesses my trades ongoing and provides summary stats such as win loss ratio, average winning trade, average loosing trade, expectancy etc.
Also I am working on a spreadsheet that will help me manange a trade by calculating the effects of trailing stops etc.

Problem is its not linked to any data source and I have to labourisly enter current prices etc.

I have just started playing with Metastock - but from what I can see thus far - it wont manage actual trades as above for me?

Does anyone know of any existing software that will do this stuff?

Thanks

Jack

Stator - if you search the forum you should find a thread on it. Sorry at work so can't post a link atm.

Wrote an Excel programme to record Buys, Sells & deposit/debit 2 "Bank Accounts" to reduce audit costs. It stores a years stk prices to give instant year, Qtr, Day, & half hourly charts if I day-trade. Pretty basic & probably same as yours. It had a download link to ASX [20min delay] but they now limit to only 12 stocks??? So got a free Yahoo page and entered a watchlist of 100 stocks with copy & paste directly into Excel DBase using a macro. Not swish, but it puts 100 prices [more if nec] into my DBase in about 15secs. Get a "My Yahoo" account and email if all else fails
Hope this helps.
