I have detected an influx over these past two weeks of staffers for the ALP, Greens, Anthony Moylan and the Good Ship Venus entering ASF.

Good on them.

They object to the alleged right wing focus of many innocent indigents such as I.

This normally happens in my experience when said left wingers sense a loss of jobs, position or influence.

As now.

Baseball bats are looming, and they may have to work for the first time in their lives, in the private sphere.

So to save their tender sensibilities and the rest of us from a summons under the upcoming " Discrimination Kampf " by Ms.Roxon,

I thought a gentle thread where those if us who admire or at least agree with some of the thoughts of Tony Abbott, John Winston Howard, Menzies and Freedom might be in order.

And just confined to those of us on " The Right " , as the Left darlings get so upset at being pilloried on a Stock Forum for gawd's sake.

So to get the thread going could we discuss a quote from Menzies.

Hey gg, the problem with the libs at the moment is that they are not playing to their strength which is industrial relations! Australia is about to find out what happens to countries with spiraling wage inflation and productivity declines. It should be all about industrial relations for me. Ps: I am not on the left or right but cannot stand these union cronies in power at the moment.

The Libs have been scared away from industrial relations reform because of the success of Labor's anti Workchoices campaign in the last election.
Imo they need to get over it. Business and much of the electorate is fed up with the increased weight given to Unions.

Mr Abbott needs to stand up for what he believes in with respect to industrial relations along with firmly rebutting the confected crap that is Gillard & Co's accusation of misogyny.

Btw I'm still waiting for herzy to provide examples of Mr Abbott's misogyny, given he has assured us such is the case, even in relationship to the hideous genuine example of this trait which exists in India, Saudi Arabia et al.

It would lose many votes for the Lib/Nats to enter the Industrial relations area.

We are very scarred by a very clever campaign by Kevin Rudd against our views, when he managed to unseat the best PM since Menzies. ( I'm speaking as a Liberal ) Nats may have a different outlook but I don't think so.

So I can guarantee 100% that you will not hear any radical thoughts from the Lib/Nats in the run up to the rout of Gillard and her Cabinet. Hopefully we will be able to unseat Rudd.

Probably not though. He has a fine ****ty spun teflon shield. Many better ALP representatives of the workers will lose their seats instead because of his poor judgement, and they will be a loss to the parliament and the country.

Fascinating GG.

Is this thread purely for those already identified as "of the right" or a discussion about the qualities that (some) conservative policies and politicians can bring to a country?

For example would it be acceptable for me to point out the insight that Malcolm Fraser offers on immigration? Or the analysis that Malcolm Turnball has of the effects of climate change and the types of policies he might have supported?

Or am I the wrong type of person to make these observations ?

About to? We've had 12 years of zero productivity growth and rising real wages. Even worse, we now have a middle class dependent on government handouts, courtesy of the party of "small government". What happened to actual liberalism? It seems to have got lost somewhere in all that pork.

Can I request a qualification to delineate The Cory Bernardi, Sofie Mirrabella Fundamentalist reactionary 'right' from the Barnaby Joyce, Bob Katter Protectionist, agrarian socialist, fundamentalist, populist, reactionary 'right' or should I consider them as one group?

I really never thought it would be so easy to get rid of basilio from this thread. We on the right must be in for a good year.

The Right is a broad church Calliope, but all abhor the mess Mrs Gillard and Mr. Rudd before her got us in to.

Any thoughts on initiatives a Lib/Nat coalition might implement after the election.

Policies to ramp up the use of domestically produced natural gas for transport, lowering our dependence on imported oil increasing opportunities for domestic infrastructure investment and in manufacturing, whilst lowering emissions of carcinogenic particulates and CO2 .

Or are they a bit scared of their oil company donations evaporating if the lid gets opened on that one.
 

Not so quick there big boy. I've had a quiet reflection on the tone and quality of debate on a few of these forums. Clearly there is no place for logic, very little for grace and sfa for relevance to the topic. Respect for other points of view doesn't figure very highly either.

So with that in mind "and if you can't beat them join approach" lets consider what initiatives should a Lib/Nat government take when it overwhelming wins the next election.

1) Try Juliar Gilliard for treason. She is clearly a commo and terrorist. A quick trial and life sentence will set the tone for the next 20 years

2) Expel Malcolm Turnball and his fellow travellers from the Liberal Party. The party just can't afford the division his views create

3) Invite Gina Rinehart into the party and cabinet. Appoint her as Minister for Northern Development. Introduce her blueprint for a special Northern Australia development zone. Put her in charge of it.

4)Announce the progressive abolition of unemployment benefits. Each month 2% of people on the dole will be cut from the books. Those who are cut off will be given $5000 if they relocate to the Northern Australia to work under the new economic development zone

5) Double the GST and halve income tax. In particular implement a flat tax regime. This will immediately reward hard working entrepreneurs while still holding the tax base.

6)Spill the jobs of all scientists Open all positions up for application and ensure through proper interview processes that successful applicants have a balanced view on climate change.

7) Invite GG to be GG. In recognition of his affinity with the Australian populace and leadership in public opinion Tony Abbott appoints GG for a 10 year term as Governor General.

There's a lot of frustration being felt by the self-employed SME operator that nobody seems interested in them. It seems to be all about "working families" and pandering to the demographic containing the most voters. Many of us that relied on LNP being "good for business" are losing faith.
 

If it is a choice between this and the Labor/Green vision of a Stalinist dystopia, count me in!!!
