I heard on the radio his manager was disappointed that medicines, which could help him, are steroids based and on banned list.

Pity, and unfortunately great things come to a close, any swimmer can only do so much.

His star will shine maybe few years longer, maybe not.

Happy,
Its a real shame, all he needs is antibiotics and even those are on the FINA banned list.
Apart from his sickness, i reakon he should be swimming the 400m...

call me cynical, but it could be a ploy to get the other teams to think they have it in the bag, without him swimming, then he'll be the dark horse that romps in....

because certain anti's contain steroids and the athletes are SUPPOSED to be steroid free. go figure that the officials can't make allowances when its been prescribed...

Its a shame the Chinese arent in the Commonwealth games otherwise Thorpey could have used some of there special antis :aus: . You watch he will be right on the day, just like the 400 in the olympics
