The Great Reset

This is what the stupid farkin Poms are about to vote in:

I recall reading a report on this and they recommended preppers buy gold coins and mini gold bars that can be bartered for useful things.

Not many places will trade stuff for huge gold ingot values

The world markets controlled by the few set the gold price. If things get bad... Crypto won't be worth anything because you'll need a computer and network to use it - which you won't have. The gold you have will be seized instantly if it's 'held' in a bank or a facility.

You can keep a few gold bars around the home, but who is going to determine what gold is worth when you want that asparagus bunch or homemade whisky, or a tooth pulled? A gram of gold is probably the size of a simcard and worth +$120 bucks. Hardly practical size/value.

Gold has been a stupid thing for 100+ years. If it has any worth when society collapses it will be at most 1/10th the current value.

These are good points. Gold has its uses in an overall investment plan but I have always been skeptical about it in a total collapse.

What we need to study our societies that have faced total collapse in the past, how did people survive what currency or medium of exchange did they use?

Barter is only useful up to a certain extent. How many lines of code can you exchange for a bag of moldy apples when the digital system has collapsed?

Ak-47s and 7.62s?

Freeze dried crickets?
