that is what I will try to see, what is the volume required, etc.. a toy project, but busy so on my todo listI wouldn't expect a home system using compressed air to be feasible.
I would be interested in how you get on.that is what I will try to see, what is the volume required, etc.. a toy project, but busy so on my todo list
A minority of solar panels contain some rather nasty stuff but most are relatively benign.People were saying it can leach chemicals as well, is that true?
Add me onto to that list of interested people.I would be interested in how you get on.

Not individual home but good enough for a small town.40y of asset, etc.
If your community has a sewage plant, it could have one, and if you have an old gold or coal underground mine, you hit the jackpot....
For an individual/farm you add the cost of a tank.
I am amazed at why we do not have more of these here.
The advantage vs batteries banks for grid storage on a small scale are so big:
We can build the lot here, skillset matching our mining workforce, plenty of reusable mines shafts and space for tanks easy to connect for small remote place, does not burn or pollute, safe, all tested technologies, does not consume water(close circuit) and can be used for cooling...
Mr @Smurf1976 , are you aware of any even trial site here in Australia?
My mistake indeed, i forgot the broken Hill trial reference.Apologies @Smurf1976 .See Smurf's post 9219.
Hmm ............ could Putrid be trusted though, that is if he is still in power.Of interest in a couple of years when hospital will run on generators and lifts will be condemned:
We could borrow that from Poutine if china ask nicely for us

Better than these discussed, but not seen, small reactors coming one day : the boat anchors, plug it onto the grid, crew provided: add vodka, some gold or yuan and Vladimir is your uncle!!Of interest in a couple of years when hospital will run on generators and lifts will be condemned:

They put them in the ground as no environmental regulations there along with the panels cannot be recycled as yetHeard this happened in qld hail?
People were saying it can leach chemicals as well, is that true?

Can't recycle that easily. My mate drives trucks and any old solar panels get shipped to India. I think they just use them.
Net zero benefitsThey put them in the ground as no environmental regulations there along with the panels cannot be recycled as yet
But all good
I am stuck behind the firewall but will read the dead tree version tomorrowTime’s up? LNG imports destined for Australia next year
After years of warnings, importing gas looks to be the only way left to head off an energy shortfall in Victoria, a move likened to “importing sand to the Sahara”.www.afr.com
its net zero idea of the people who peddle this crapNet zero benefits
