If you can, you must go to this show, even if it means selling some shares to afford it! Get the most expensive seats you can afford, it will be worth it!

We went last Thursday (opening night Adelaide) and had the worst seats you could imagine - suspended from the ceiling almost! and still thought that this show was the BEST show we have ever seen (and bear in mind partner has been IN four Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies including Sydney!)

Hugh Jackman - natural performer and those close up screen shots of him
Colleen Hewitt - performed a cracker of a solo that really gets to the heart
Chrisse Amphlet - Liza - to a T!

Fantastic props - very cleverly done and stunning effects.

Another thread asked what people didnt like about Australia - well, after seeing the 'Qantas' song in this show - well, it reaffirmed my love for this place. And almost, the flag too

Actually, I am going twice - I decided my mother should see it so have just bought two more tickets. Lucky the showdown is on at the same time so it would seem that some silly people would prefer to watch the footy. Tragic. But good for me!

Sounds great. I love musicals.

I can quite imagine that without having to see it

As for best show ever seen, my favourite so far would be a toss-up between West Side Story (seen it twice) and A Midsummer Night's Dream in the Botanic Gardens (also seen it twice). Of course the latter is not a musical

Would also love to see Chicago, as the movie is wonderful.

Cheers,
GP

Oh, Prospector. I'm so envious. Living in a regional town we miss out on all this wonderful stuff. I'd love to see it.

My favourite musical was Jesus Christ Superstar, especially Herod's song - so funny.

You could always move back to the city or take a holiday to the city to enjoy such performances

Julia, if you can make the trip to Brisbane it would be seriously worth it! People in SA have made 8 hour car trips just to get there!

Jesus Christ Superstar was great - and now I have Herod's song humming in my brain! Soon to be replaced by 'Rio' in a few hours time! :
