Recommend software for scanning markets?

Hi,

this question may have been asked but I have had a quick look and can't find it..

I am thinking of purchasing Hubb Integrated investor or Stock Doctor or some similar scanning software to help me choose stocks (I am also interested in Forex)...has anyone had anyexperience with any software like this and can you share you experiences good/bad

As you can probably work out I am a noob at this.

I want to trade short/medium term (day/week not intraday) and some long term..

Type "screener" or "scanner" into the search options, titles only. This should answer your question.

What is it that your wanting to scan for.

Last time I checked there wasnt a software that searched for
"The Next Stock to double in price".

I have 3

Metastock which will search for anything you code into it.
AGET which will search for Elliott Wave setups.
Tradeguider which will search for VSA setups.

I need one which will find my car keys--any hints?

I find Amibroker to be one of the best applications for scanning, with hundreds of small programs available from their free library.

Its also one of the best value for money apps at roughy 250 USD.
