Looking for reliable data vendors that supply historical minute data (willing to pay) for SPI futures. As much historical data as first released by the exchange.

Interfacing with TradeStation a bonus but not a requirement.

-thanks,
Ryan

Ryan, try www.tickdata.com

Also, I'll dig around and see if I can find five yrs worth as well. Might save you a couple of hundred if I can find it.

That would be appreciated. I had looked at tickdata but was also looking for confirmation from forum users as to quality of data and service of provider. I'm assuming that you're recommending them as a good provider?

Yes, it's very good data. Not cheap though.

Hi Guys,
I'm also looking for the exact same thing ... I've contacted Mirus Futures, Kinetick and esignal. Basically prices are around 170.00 / month live data.

I'm trying to interface data with Ninja to do some backtesting, a friend is killing it with auto-execution on US stocks.
I'd like to see if I can write an auto execute script with Ninja to trade the SPI futures.
I'll look into tick data costs.
Cheers :)

Re: SPI ,Ninja Trader configuration problems (willing to pay for assistance)

Hi all,
I only trade the SPI so everything I need assistance with is SPI related.
I'm looking for help with answers to Ninja Trader.
But first I want you to know I have tried many .. many hours looking for answers and sending equiries to ninja support.
I am willing to pay anyone who is very good with Ninja and can talk me through these issues. I don't have any more time to waste. I need direct phone assistance taking me through each step until each issue is solved.
I'm using esignal realtime data (futures only)
Issues:
Simulator charts not loading with Data
Only 78 days of data loading on daily chart even though I set data series to much longer
Heaps of no connecting to e-signal data error message, then some times it does ?
Correct filling in of all SPI related tabs forms etc
Cannot receive charts with continuous data (24hr)
Cannot save the data series box for 15 min charts more than 5 days loading, each time it opens it only shows those 5 days.
Big chunk of data missing out of a daily chart
Looking forward to speaking with you
PM me if you can help :)

Re: SPI ,Ninja Trader configuration problems (willing to pay for assistance)

Hi All,
just paid $750 and download SPI future data from Tick data. It only has the day session 9:50am til 4:30pm.
I was looking for the 24 hour session combined. ie Day and Night.
So I am $750 poorer and very dissapointed.
Anyone can help direct or share with me a 24hour data for SPI futures?
Please Personal message me.

No, that's shouldn't be the case. You may need to merge the two contracts (day and night) but you should not need to purchase them separately.

Did you send tick data a note?

Yes, Tom Myers is away for 1 week so has directed me to support.
Doesn't look like they collect the night data, he did say.
will let you know of outcome.

There's heaps of different questions in this thread so I'll try to address as many of them as I can, I trade SPI futures and have used a few different data source's :-

Esignal, Kinetick, DTN IQ which provide tick data
The other option is Interactive brokers which requires an account (minimum deposit $10,000) the data is free but its not tick data its snapshot data but at least its live data.

Tick Data = Good for trading the DOM, Good for traders using tick based charts

Snapshot Data = Good for people using time based charts eg. 1min, 30min, 1 hour, daily, weekly or Range bar charts and also renko charts.

I've used all of the above data sources except Kinetick and have found them to all be very reliable.
Most charting platforms will only show the day session so you will need to go into the settings of your charting platform and select show data for 24/7 to get day and night session together. This process will be different for every charting platform.

DTN IQ Feed will set you back $151.00 a month, DTN IQ Feed is probably the best data provided in the industry!
Don't expect to get much historical data from these providers if you choose to use any of them.
Hope this helps.

RADO,

With a funded acct AMP via CQG provides 24/7 tick data for the SPI - for 'free'.

I use this daily - no problems.

Historical data is available, only goes back say 15 months and it has holes in it - but it's usable if your not too picky.

I use NT and have written/use automated scripts - I can't promise anything but ask me any questions you may have via pm and I'll see what I can do.

I forgot to mention that you can get a free 30 day trial of DTN IQ Feed. And another option is to do a free 30 day trial Multicharts, when you install Multicharts for the free 30 day trial it will ask you if you want to do a free 30 day trial of DTN IQ feed just click yes and you get 30 days of free Futures and FX data to use on Multicharts! :D
