i am more of an 'average down' fan and 20 (plus ) % down , i consider if i should buy more but then i am chasing div. income ( for the future ) so most shares held are liable not to go broke ( famous last words ) BUT it all depends on the company , direction and management , i have made some very quick exits at times ( crystallizing losses or profits as the case maybe ) i am more interested in income than capital gains take MQG in 2011 as an example , i bought down from $31.93 to $20 , now yes i made a newbie error , but it was i was buying a set number of shares each time NOT $ value on the way down ( 7 buys in 2011 )
