The FBI has released it's latest report on investigations into Russian influence in US politics and the 2016. It's now clear that there was a clever and sophisticated effort to direct US domestic politics and support the election of Donald Trump.

Main points
-The operation begin in 2014.
-It was based in Russia with many thousands of people involved in creating social media activities
-The use of Russian servers was disguised by buying space on US servers
-The main thrust of the operation was creating false stories around Hilary Clinton and some -Republician nominees. Conversely the agents created support stories for Bernie Sanders and other Democratic nominees to weaken Hilary clintons chances of nomination.
-Donald Trump was widely and actively supported.

The FBI has yet to complete it's investigations into how the Trump campaign were involved with the operation. There are already four members of the Trump administration charged with offences relating to the Russian operation and associated issues (money laundering..)

And the FBI is quite certain that Russia is continuing with it's campaign and intends to influence the 2018 mid term elections

Not looking good for Trump. In my view the scenarios are

1. he decides that it's all not worth the trouble and resigns.

2. he overreaches and fires the wrong people in an attempted coverup and gets impeached.

3. he tries to bluff his way out and says he authorised nothing and it was nothing to do with him.

4. he suffers a massive defeat at the mid term elections and the Dems decide to get revenge

Either way he's pretty badly wounded and it's doubtful whether he will get a second term.
 
Has any complicity by Trump or any in his campaign team been demonstrated?
 
No, but there is evidence just as clear (ie, fake news) that the Clinton charitable movements have trumped it up.

And the big question, what interfearance, is it not part of world politatics to try and influence outcomes.
The US interfeared in bringing the left wing Ukraine Government undone to take control so as to thwart Russian supply lines of oil and gas to Europe. No only that, the US have caused most wars in the last 40 years for the same reasons. As a business man Trump like to shake the hand and work out a deal. lol (the ole car salesman)

Trump won the election and its time to get over it. He's certainly a nut in my view but the other side are evil.

From a global perspective, yes - they all do it.

From a US perspective, it should be different. The fact that everyone meddles doesn't mean you give them a free pass, just as most other countries would prosecute any foreigner caught meddling in their elections (if they had the means to do it). But the bigger issue is did members of Trump's campaign team collude with the Russians. That is probably treason. Time will tell, but it certainly is looking that way.

Regarding comments that the Clinton team acted similarly. The reason the FBI haven't prosecuted anyone in the Clinton team or made any findings in that respect even though it is part of their mandate to investigate such matters is simply because it didn't happen. Those rumours never had any basis and we now have definite proof that the Russians were probably the source of much of it.
 


I must admit I'm not up to speed with the rules of treason regarding unelected people who have yet to be handed the keys to the country's jewels. A signed contract for services from the Kremlin might be a good start to prove collusion.
 
Where is the proof that the Russions were "PROBABLY" the source of it.

There are no real facts presented one way or another. "Probably" what sort of a fact is that.

A bit like religeion, everyone seems driven by their own feelings plus some political bias.

Time to move on IMHO

Yea, but if Uncle Sam does it it's for freedom and democracy and civilisation. The Ruskies and Chins does it for their own national gains, the bastards.

If Uncle Sam is interested in freedom and democracy, it should pull it's own universities into line.

Therein is the enemy of the same.

Could be but there aint usually smoke without fire.

People have been charged so if those charges stand up court, then there is something to see.

The U.S. indictment is detailed, but it makes assertions without providing evidence outright.
Think of it this way. The few posters on this thread could apparently take down a US Election if we all trolled hard enough.

The only hack was the emails of DNC. And they still would be hard pressed proving it was Russian state.

Be interesting for sure, but so far, as moXHO, suggests we could troll for the same effect and make out we had a connection with some obscure campaign employee:

"The Russian 'hoax' was that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia — it never did!"

Their universities have long been pulled into line. And them lines have been raised higher so that no kids from poor working families would even think about attending one.

The Powell Memorandum (back in the 60s?) call on business "entrepreneurs" to own and control such liberal lefty commie institution as universities. You know, the cesspool of hippies smoking weed and preaching those long-haired idiots about peace, political activism, caring for the environment, standing up against the will of "their government" to fight communists and unions.

Hence the charities and donations from enlightened captains of industry to set up certain kind of schools and buildings across universities. Hiring and firing of professors. Raising of uni fees so that those whose family managed to send them there to learn better ask themselves whether they ought to go to Wall St, go to corporate law... or go on welfare.

It's quite a beautiful plan if you look into it. Whether it's good for the country or not, that's a different question.
 
Reading about Robert Mercer owned psyop company, Cambridge Analytica's role in Trumps election and Brexit makes for interesting reading.

Cambridge Analytica is a psychological warfare organisition that offers its services to election campaigns and juntas. Palantir is in the mix also as a data miner contributor; Palantir is owned by a PayPal founder and major investor in Farcebook, Peter Thiel. Throw in Alphabet and it's use of prediction searches on Google and there's a fairly formidable amount of manipulation going on.

It seems Trumps rumoured vision is for the re-ascendancy of the five fingers, with the British the first step of reunification and he's using Analytica and its cohorts .

Now is not the time to be showing your cards. Mueller is smart and is not going to give Trump, the GOP or those Russian's involved anything that they could use to discredit the investigations or the FBI. The purpose of the recent indictments was to make it next to impossible for Trump to fire those on the investigating team. Doing it when there was little produced by the investigation was risky but doable, doing it now with indictments on the table would be suicide. A smart move by Mueller.

But while all this is going on, there are several members of the Trump team spilling the beans to the FBI to save their skins and Trump hasn't a clue what they are saying.

Mueller is smart enough to know that when he hits Trump he needs to hit him with a steamroller and until the steamroller is all fuelled up and ready to roll there will be little revealed beforehand pointing to Trump.
 
Mueller is crap but dangerous.

The link of the plot to Putin is reduced to the allegation that the plot was financed by a St. Petersburg restaurateur whose connection to Putin is that his business once catered official dinners between Russian officials and foreign dignitaries.

Finally, note that Mueller’s release of his charges in the face of dead news weekend means that Mueller knows that he has nothing to justify the massive propaganda onslaught against Trump for conspiring with Putin with which the presstitutes have regaled us. If the charges amounted to anything, they would have been released on Monday morning, and the presstitutes would have been handed by the FBI and CIA the news stories to file with their papers."

A good read is Edgar J Hoover, The Man and The Secrets by Curt Gentry 1991 and the control by the FBI of eight Presidents. And when the facts dont' stand up Trump will be assasinated.
