Robert F Kennedy Jnr

Given up on the DNC for sure, wise move. Can't win of course, but will split the Dem vote.

He may join the Libertarian Party!

UNITED STATES
Kennedy may turn out to be Trump threat
Aaron Blake

WASHINGTON: The American right’s efforts to elevate Robert F. Kennedy jnr were as transparent as they were cynical.

The idea was clearly to try to embarrass President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary, using Kennedy’s inflated early poll standing as an excuse to treat the primary challenge as a real one.

Fox News picked up the ball and ran with it, publishing many dozens of stories and featuring him regularly on-air. House Republicans even invited him to testify on Capitol Hill. It hasn’t worked. And now, it’s looking as if the whole thing could backfire.

The latest indications are that Kennedy will end his Democratic primary challenge against Biden and instead run in the general election.

And while Kennedy is a lifelong Democrat from the country’s preeminent Democratic family, there is plenty of reason to believe a third-party bid could hurt Donald Trump more than Biden.

There is no good polling that tests a Kennedy third-party bid. What we do know is Republicans like Kennedy a lot more than Democrats do. The latest polling from Quinnipiac University shows Republicans like Kennedy by a 30-point margin, 48 per cent favourable to 18 per cent unfavourable.

Democrats, meanwhile, have developed an overwhelming distaste.

The Quinnipiac poll shows just 14 per cent have a favourable opinion of him, compared with 57 per cent who have an unfavourable one.

Republicans like Kennedy better than they like many of the top GOP presidential candidates. They even like him better than entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former vice-president Mike Pence. Only Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are clearly more popular than Kennedy.

Imagine if any of these GOP candidates were to drop out and wage a third-party campaign; we could be talking about a potential spoiler for Trump’s generalelection hopes, not Biden’s.

One big caveat is we don’t know what kind of ballot access Kennedy might get in key states – a hurdle for any third-party candidate. The New York Times reported he had been in talks with the Libertarian Party, which could help with that, but running on his own would mean collecting large amounts of signatures.

A survey also asked people to use one word to describe Kennedy, and the most popular words [among Democratic-leaning voters] were ‘‘crazy’’, ‘‘dangerous’’, ‘‘insane’’, ‘‘nutjob’’, ‘‘conspiracy’’ and ‘‘crackpot’’.

That same poll still showed Kennedy pulling 10 per cent in the state’s Democratic primary (compared to Biden’s 70 per cent). But Kennedy was the second choice of only 4 per cent of voters. Furthermore, the survey asked about a scenario in which Biden isn’t on the ballot – there is wrangling over whether he’ll participate, given a dispute over the primary calendar – and only 3 per cent of Biden voters said they would instead vote for Kennedy in that case, while 65 per cent said they would simply write in Biden.

Imagine if for some reason Trump withdraws, Kennedy with the Libertarian Party could really take on the establishment.

The main problem I see to him winning would be Fox media. They are likely to do a hatchet job.

However, if they thought there was good ratings in it from the maga crowd then possibly he could get a real groundswell crack at the Presidency., particularly if he got a blessing from Trump.

Looking at the other candidates debate performances, to me only Nikki Haley has the ability, presence and brains to win the Presidency however she is female which makes it harder (within the Republican party). Also she doesn't have Murdoch backing at this stage but if they are looking for a replacement for DeSantis then she could get the gong.

Haley has zero chance, no actually Less than Zero and is a war monger that would take us into World war 3 anyway.

It's going to be Trump, Newsom and RFK

Possibly. I doubt it.

I do like rfk. I think the dems will manufacture some scandal in the end to attack him with. If they haven't already.
Yes. Standby for RFKJDS, the DNC ain't gonna like this.

ETA, it will be interesting to see who he goes after more, Trump or Biden (or whoever the candidates end up being).

Kennedy has polled up to 22% primary votes in the latest Quinnipac University poll quoted in Yahoo!
He is polling highest among the youngest voters which is further signs that the senile farts running or wanting to run the USA.
Historically, third party and independent candidates have faded as the poll date in November approaches, but perhaps there is sufficient angst against the two "leading" contenders to push him higher.
Whatever happens, he will most likely affect the result one way or another.
Jill Sten ahs also announced an independant candidacy.
She is of the far left greens, and Hillary Clinton blames Stein for Hillary's loss in 2016.
Is there nobody she hasn't blamed?
Perhaps a little reflection in a mirror might help.

I have listen to Kennedy and think he is a drop kick but I guess that's US politics.

If I were an American, I would be voting Trump with bells on in the election. However if I didn't vote Trump I would be voting for this bloke.

I noticed the Simpsons completely hammered him a few weeks back. He was called "Robert F Quimby" and a comment was made that he was a disgrace to the family. The scene had something to do with him at a funeral suggesting a death was covid vaccine related. The entire scene was irrelevant, unnecessary, and just a plot to assist in making him look bad. I was rather surprised it didn't get more media attention - but the lizard people have told the media not to give RFK any airtime

There are many things that the American public is not ready for, which is why I don't think Junior has a hope.

But it will be interesting to see who he draws votes away from.

Unless RFJ becomes a champion of transgender sports and illegal immigrants I think he'll pull far more away from Trump than he will sleepy creepy joe, which is why I can't figure out why the media don't want to pump him up. He won't take many votes from Biden. His views are more closely related to the current "right" way of thinking than the current "left" way of thinking.

The people who are generally positive on RFK are the people who are generally positive on Trump and Negative on Biden.

As bad as Trump ?

The "Kennedy Family" have been very critical of him, has some sane ideas along with nut case unhinged views appears lunney right wing.

You didn't watch the above video. Family thing gets debunked to a degree. It's actually worth the watch. Not that I trust politicians. I mean the president comes with a whole party of sht people.

A choice between Biden, Trump and RFK.
It's hard to go past RFK though.
